Smartphone makers have been focusing heavily on adding AI features to their devices. These tools can do a lot, from creating documents and helping with daily tasks to editing pictures in ways that were once only possible with advanced software. One of the most popular uses of AI in phones today is photo editing. And a recent test shows that Samsung’s Galaxy AI might be ahead of the competition.

User UniverseIce shared a comparison on X, where they tested the AI photo editing features of different phones. The test used a photo of a child looking out of a window. The task was to remove the child from the photo while making sure the edit looked natural. However, the phone not only had to do that, but also deal with a reflection.

Galaxy S25 Edge outdoes the opposition

Several phones were tested, including the Vivo X200 Ultra, Honor Magic V5, Oppo Find X8 Ultra, Huawei Pura 70 Ultra, and Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. All of them succeeded in removing the child from the picture. None of the phones struggled with that part, and the edits looked clean. But there was a big difference when it came to the reflection. Every phone except the S25 Edge left the reflection of the child in the window – a glaring issue.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge was the only phone that removed both the child and the reflection perfectly. The result looked flawless, and you wouldn’t even know the photo had been edited. This shows that Samsung’s Galaxy AI is not only powerful but also smarter in understanding small details that make an image look realistic. Sadly, no iPhone with Apple Intelligence support was demonstrated for this test; maybe it’s best to wait for the upcoming iPhone 17 release for testing instead.

AI features like this are becoming more common in smartphones. What started as simple tools to enhance pictures has now grown into advanced editing systems that can make big changes with a single tap. As AI continues to improve, we can expect phones to offer even more creative and professional-level editing options in the future.
