Samsung is perhaps best known for its Galaxy S-series smartphones, most recently releasing the S26 series in February. For those looking for a more budget-friendly option, the Galaxy A-series remains a solid option, though its different naming convention and release schedule may mean it flies under the radar a little. In any case, the 2026 A-series had its launch last month, featuring the Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37 – but one expected model was missing – the Galaxy A27.

Despite missing out on last month’s launch, the A27 model is still being referenced online, though there’s no official word on whether it has been delayed or canceled altogether. The cheapest of the three mid-range phones has now appeared online in a Geekbench benchmark, revealing a two-year-old SoC and potentially lower RAM compared to last year’s Galaxy A26.

Samsung Galaxy A27 early benchmarks have arrived

As spotted by Abhishek Yadav, the Samsung Galaxy A27 (SM-A276B) has appeared on Geekbench with single-core and multi-core benchmark scores. It’s fitted with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor (which was first released in September 2024), an Adreno 710 GPU, and just 6GB of RAM. It runs on the latest Android 16 operating system.

We should note that these early benchmarks should be taken with a pinch of salt, as they may not be reflective of the finalized performance of the device – especially since Galaxy A26 benchmarks are already more impressive. For comparison, last year’s Galaxy A26 ships with up to 8GB of RAM, though it does have a 6GB variant available.

Whether the 6GB spec on this Galaxy A27 is the result of cutbacks fuelled by recent memory shortages, we can’t say, though downgraded RAM is to be expected as a side effect of the current situation. We may still yet see an 8GB version appear online, assuming Samsung still has plans to release this SKU after it was snubbed from the March mid-range launch.
