Season 9 catapults Diablo 4 up Steam Deck’s top played charts, with a big summer sale discount too
Diablo 4 is making a strong comeback on the Steam Deck. Thanks to the launch of Season 9 and a big 50% price drop during the Steam Summer Sale, the game has quickly become one of the most-played titles on Valve's handheld.
If you check the Steam Deck Top Played charts, you'll see Diablo 4 sitting in the 17th spot right now (based on stats between July 1 – July 7). The game has jumped 36 places to get there and is now more popular than Clair Obscur and Vampire Survivors.

Diablo 4's new season went live on July 1, bringing fresh content and updates to the game. Like other Diablo seasons, Season 9 includes new mechanics, new loot, and endgame content. On top of that, it introduces various quality-of-life improvements, which are designed to improve the overall experience and make everything smoother than before.
What’s even better is that the Steam Summer Sale has Diablo 4 on a massive discount, which has probably helped persuade new players to check it out. Previously, the game was available for $49.99, but the sale has slashed the price by 50%, bringing it down to just $24.99.
Another reason Diablo 4 is so popular on the Steam Deck is that it's a Verified game, and has been designed with controller input in mind. For those who don't know, Verified games work well on the handheld without needing any changes. In any case, do keep in mind that the Steam Summer Sale will conclude on July 10, so there are a few days left to grab Diablo 4 at 50% off. Once the sale is over, we don’t know how long it will be till we see another discount like this.
