The RTX 3060 is over five years old at this point, but that hasn’t stopped a new 70W version of the GPU from making its way to a major US retailer. The SRhonyra RTX 3060 Low Profile is currently listed on Newegg for $495.59, putting it in the same price bracket as some much newer RTX 5060 series graphics cards, and considerably more expensive than the standard 8GB 5060.

The popular 12GB RTX 3060 did relaunch a couple of months ago, but this new low-profile model is not a regular 3060 GPU. It has been designed specifically for systems where space and power are a luxury. As a low-profile variant, it only takes up a single expansion slot and doesn’t require any external PCIe power cables, but the compact design comes with compromises.

ModelPrice (Newegg)
GIGABYTE WINDFORCE GeForce RTX 5060 8GB$459.99
SRhonyra RTX 3060 Low Profile$799.99 $495.59
GIGABYTE WINDFORCE GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8GB$530.39 $509.99
MSI SHADOW GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB$842.39 $779.99

The new SRhonyra GPU gets all of its power directly from the PCIe x16 slot. As a result, its TDP is limited to only 70W. For comparison, a regular RTX 3060 can consume around 170W, so the low-profile model has a much smaller power budget to work with. That limitation, however, has a major impact on performance.

While this exact SRhonyra model hasn’t been independently tested yet, a very similar single-slot RTX 3060 was previously put through benchmarks, shared to Chinese platform bilibili. That card reportedly struggled to reach a clock speed of 900 MHz, well below the 1,777 MHz boost clock associated with a standard RTX 3060. Its 3DMark Time Spy performance was roughly half that of a normal RTX 3060 and, in some testing, it even fell behind the much older GTX 1060.

Still, gaming performance doesn’t appear to be the main reason this card exists. SRhonyra is positioning the GPU as an option for local AI workloads, including running 7B to 13B parameter LLMs. The card retains 12GB of GDDR6 VRAM with an effective memory speed of 15 Gbps, which could make it useful for certain AI workloads. As memory shortages continue to affect the market, higher VRAM cards (such as the 16GB 5060 Ti) face considerable price jumps in comparison.

Its tiny size is another major selling point. The card measures only 6.85 inches long, 2.71 inches wide, and 0.70 inches thick. It also comes with both full-height and half-height brackets, making it suitable for compact PCs and slim workstations.

The cooling system consists of a single-slot blower fan, while display connectivity is limited to two outputs. Buyers get one HDMI 2.1 port and one DisplayPort 1.4a connection, with support for dual-monitor setups. The lack of an external power connector could also make the card useful for older office PCs or small systems with weaker power supplies. Users can simply install it into a compatible PCIe slot without having to worry about additional GPU power cables.
