This fantastic, budget-friendly ASUS TUF Gaming 24-inch monitor is currently 30% off for a limited time on Amazon, and reduced from $169.00 to just $119.00, bringing it back to its record-low price once again.

This is a very hard monitor to pass up if you’re looking for something cost-effective for high fps FHD gaming. The ASUS TUF Gaming lineup always delivers on performance, value, and design, in our view. This monitor boasts your expected 180Hz refresh rate and a low 1ms response time. Still, it goes above and beyond with its inclusion of FreeSync Premium, Extreme Low Motion Blur technology, and a 99% sRGB color gamut for more vibrant picture quality. For under $120, this is an excellent choice to pair with a 1080p gaming PC, and thanks to its complimentary 3-month Adobe Creative Cloud access, it’s not a bad shout if you’re looking to start streaming, too.

ASUS TUF Gaming 24” Monitor

(23.8” viewable) 1080P (VG249QL3A) – Full HD, 180Hz, 1ms, Fast IPS, ELMB, FreeSync Premium, G-SYNC Compatible, Speakers, DisplayPort, Height Adjustable, 3 Year Warranty

Key features of this ASUS TUF Gaming 24” monitor

23.8-inch FHD screen

This is, in many ways, one of the very best sizes for 1920 x 1080p resolution, as it’s small enough to make the lower resolution look crisp and clear, despite it not being 1440p or 4K. It’s also the ideal size for competitive gaming, as going to large can put you at a disadvantage, especially with first-person shooters.

180Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and ELMB technology

This monitor has a high 180Hz refresh rate, which is going to allow you to game at up to roughly 180fps in FHD. Its 1ms response time is also good, but pretty standard, and will ensure that motion blur and ghosting is reduced, even at higher framerates. On top of this, ASUS has its own Extreme Low Motion Blur technology, which further reduces ghosting and motion blur, and can help you track objects or opponents more easily on-screen.

FreeSync Premium and G-Sync compatible

This is great to see with a monitor this affordable, as both adaptive sync technologies play a vital role in reducing screen tearing and stutter when framerates rise and fall in-game. FreeSync Premium, in particular, is excellent, as it’s a more advanced offering than the basic FreeSync. Unlike the base-level, FreeSync Premium guarantees 120Hz at FHD minimum and has Low Frame Rate Compensation, which keeps things running smoothly when framerates dip.

Shadow Boost

Quite a common feature with most gaming monitors nowadays, and one that comes in handy for competitive gaming. What this does is automatically adjust the brightness of shadows, without overexposing the brighter areas on-screen. This means that you can spot opponents lurking in the dark, which can give you a competitive edge.

3-month Creative Cloud complimentary access

Another common add-on, but a very welcome one if you’re looking to get into streaming. It gives you access to a massive suite of applications that can help with video editing, pre-stream branding, and much more.

Things to consider

The only thing to consider here, really, is the size. At 24 inches, it’s not the most versatile monitor you can get, especially if you’re looking for a one-screen solution for productivity, gaming, and entertainment. We’re big fans of some of ASUS’ dual-mode 27-inch monitors, which can switch between lower Hz 4K and higher Hz 1080p resolution. While your PC may not be 4K-ready, having the option of 4K for watching movies or more intricate design work makes it a much more versatile solution to a standard 1080 24-inch monitor. They’re frequently discounted in the sales, too, so check out our top gaming monitor deals below to see what’s out there.
