Steam holds different sales events throughout the year, and the biggest ones of them all are the seasonal sales, like the Summer Sale. This event is known for offering some of the best discounts, with a wider range of deals compared to regular sales. If you’re excited for the next big sale, you’ll be happy to know that the Summer Sale is just around the corner and will go live in a few days.

When will the Steam Summer Sale 2025 start?

According to an official post on the Steam Community Forum, the Steam Summer Sale will begin on June 26. The exact time hasn’t been confirmed yet, but we should learn more soon. What we do know is that the event will end on July 10, giving you two full weeks to build up your game library.

What to expect from the Steam Summer Sale in 2025?

As mentioned earlier, the Steam Summer Sale is one of the biggest events of the year, so you can expect huge discounts on a wide variety of games. That said, the biggest deals are usually on older titles, with some discounts going up to 95%. New releases will likely be included too, but don't expect more than 5% to 15% off in most cases. Occasionally, newer games do get solid discounts, like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which got a 20% discount back in March (relatively) shortly after its release, but it’s not the same for every game.

In any case, here are the top games that we expect to be on sale this year:

  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • Civilization VII
  • Monster Hunter Wilds
  • Assassin's Creed Shadows
  • The Last of Us Part II Remastered
  • DOOM: The Dark Ages
  • Elden Ring Nightreign
  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
  • Dune: Awakening

Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most popular games ever, and the lowest price we've seen for it on Steam is $14.99. This year, we're expecting a similar discount, or maybe even lower if we're lucky.

The rest of the games on the list are new releases, so don't expect massive discounts. Titles like Monster Hunter Wilds and Civilization VII haven’t seen any discount yet on Steam, so we’re expecting at least 15% off for them. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is currently listed for 20% off, but we’re expecting the discount to be slightly bigger during the Summer Sale. For the others, expect somewhere between 5% to 10% off. Dune: Awakening, however, launched just about a week ago, so it might not get any discount at all, but we’re still hoping to see at least a few percent off.
