Stellar Blade is becoming a Steam Deck favorite as it climbs to top 10 spot in first week
Table of Contents
After its PS5 release in April 2024, Stellar Blade finally launched for PC on June 11. So far, the game has received over 15,000 reviews on Steam, most of which are positive. That's pretty impressive for a title that's only been out for five days, and the number of reviews is growing daily. Steam Deck users also seem to be enjoying it, as the game has entered the top 10 most-played charts.
We tested Stellar Blade on Steam Deck ahead of its full release, and the game is a great match for the system. It’s not too demanding, and, thanks to its console roots, is a great match for a controller-like configuration.
Stellar Blade is currently the eighth most-played game on the Steam Deck
If you check the Steam Deck Top Played charts, you’ll see that Stellar Blade is in 8th place (based on stats covering June 10 – June 16). It's the only new game release in the top 10, ranking above titles like Cyberpunk 2077, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, Brotato, and Red Dead Redemption 2. It overtook Ghost of Tsushima as Sony’s most successful single-player game on Steam.
However, it's important to keep in mind that Stellar Blade is still a brand-new game. In the coming days, its ranking could climb even higher, especially since we saw it debut in the 20s soon after launch. According to SteamDB, the 24-hour peak for the game is 192,078 players, which is huge. But once players finish the main campaign, we can expect its rank to drop.

One reason Stellar Blade is so popular on the Steam Deck is that it's a Verified game. For those who don’t know, a Verified game runs smoothly out of the box without any tweaks or adjustments, something that you may have to do with ‘Playable’ games. Combine that smooth performance with action-packed gameplay, a thrilling storyline, and unique characters, and you've got a game that Steam Deck users will enjoy. The game’s main campaign takes around 22 hours to complete, with side quests adding another 14 hours. But if you're aiming for 100% completion, expect to spend at least 57 hours in the game.

Right now, Stellar Blade is available for $59.99 on Steam. However, with the Steam Summer Sale coming up soon, there’s a decent chance the game will get a discount. But don’t expect it to be massive, as it might only be 5 or 10% off at best.
