Newegg has been going hard recently with its gaming PC deals, and we’ve spotted another banger that’s knocked $900 off this Cobratype Venom prebuild. This RTX 5080 rig is now reduced from $3,499.99 to $2,599.99, and we think it’s very competitively priced considering it also packs one of the top gaming CPUs on the market, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. Things to consider
For the price, this gaming PC is actually a real winner in our books, but you may want to explore different CPUs if you’re after something better for non-gaming tasks, like creative workflows and productivity. Some higher core and thread count CPUs to consider, which are similarly priced to the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, would be some of the Intel 14th-gen offerings, like the Intel i7-14700F or potentially the Intel Core Ultra 7 265K, which has a dedicated NPU for AI-acceleration. RTX 5080 builds with these processors are also around the $2500 to $3000 mark, but they should be better for hybrid content creation and gaming usage, if you’re okay with sacrificing a touch of gaming performance.
