TrendForce revised the predicted number, which was originally 2.8 million (40% growth), to 3.4 million. While other segments of the monitor industry are facing the impact of global tariffs by the U.S. government, OLED monitors remains unaffected. We saw a number of OLED advancements at Computex recently, including two from Acer and a 500Hz QD-OLED from MSI.
OLED gaming monitors are slowly becoming mainstream, and while they are expensive, the visuals they provide are second to none. There was also a note that Samsung and LG are the primary suppliers of OLED panels, and with the momentum slowing down with OLED TVs, these tech giants are directing their focus toward the gaming segment.
By 2025, LG is set to ship under 700,000 units; however, after considering the massive demand for OLED panels, the number was revised to 800,000 units with the possibility of reaching 1 million, depending on consumer feedback.
On the other side, many major brands like MSI, ASUS, Acer, and Gigabyte showcased their OLED monitors at Computex 2025, and the most eye-catching one was the MSI MPG 271QR X50, which has a 500Hz refresh rate. Our very own, Charlie Noon, was on the show floor in Taiwan to experience the best monitors at Computex 2025, but this also showcases the seriousness of gaming brands pushing OLED monitors as the next major upgrade.
