Building a gaming PC is exciting, but for first time builders, it can be challenging as you're not familiar with every component, the terminologies, and the relevant connections to make. In addition, purchasing each component, after checking for compatibility, costs more, so opting for bundles is an excellent way to save some cash.

That being said, we spotted this 3-in-1 AM5 Micro Center bundle that will help you jump-start your gaming PC build and it features excellent components like the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which is currently the best gaming processor in the world.

What is in this bundle?

We’ll go through all three components and see what this bundle has to offer.

CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D

The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is the most sought after Ryzen 9000 processor as it offers excellent gaming performance and can handle productive tasks much better than its predecessor, as it can be overclocked and the IHS placement lowers the temperature without compromising performance.

We've also tested this CPU for our 9800X3D review and gave it a 5/5 rating and an outstanding award. To test it gaming performance, we paired it with the RTX 4070 Ti and ran Cyberpunk 2077 and Counter-Strike 2 at 1080p low settings, as that puts more strain on the CPU.

This processor had no issues keeping up with the 4070 Ti and managed 334 and 604 FPS, respectively. However, in CS2, we turned on PBO and the FPS jumped up to 669 FPS, which is a 10% performance increment. So, regardless of whichever graphics card you pair with it, you shouldn't have any issues, and even the RTX 5090 wasn't enough to bottleneck it.

Motherboard: ASUS TUF B650-E Gaming WiFi

The ASUS TUF B650-E Gaming WiFi is a 600 series mid-range motherboard as it features the B650-E chipset. What this means is that it should offer good performance but also deliver good value for money by keeping the price low.

For starters, it sports the AM5 socket, which is compatible with the Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 processors. However, since you have the 9800X3D, you probably won't feel the need to upgrade it anytime soon.

It has a maximum memory speed and capacity of 8000+(OC) and 192GB DDR5 RAM, respectively. Besides that, it has one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot for the graphics card, three M.2 slots, WiFi 6E, 8 ports in the rear, and 7 ports in the front.

So, this motherboard, by no means, is underpowered, and with a decent 8+2 VRM with 60A power stages, it should be enough to supply a clean and stable power supply to the 9800X3D.

RAM: G.Skill Flare X5 32GB DDR5 6,000 MHz

While this entire bundle is great, what I liked is that they included 2 sticks of 16GB RAM, totaling 32 GB. This is more than enough for even the most intense gaming sessions and graphically demanding titles. Besides that, for productivity, you shouldn't experience any performance degradation due to low system memory.

Is this bundle worth it?

We think that this bundle is definitely worth it because the original price tag was $749.97, but with the $49.98 shaved off, you can get it for $699.99. Just the simple fact that you're getting three solid components for less than $700, and one of them being the 9800X3D, is excellent, as that is the last processor you'll need for years to come.
