That’s a hefty pre-Prime Day deal if we ever saw one, but if you’re wondering whether to go for it, read on. I’ll be breaking down some of the key specs and giving my two cents on who this TV would be best for, and for what usage.

Breaking down the LG C2’s most important specs and features
Okay, so the basics. This TV is 4K and 120hz, which means that it is able to showcase 4K content and handle up to 120 frames per second. What’s that good for? In short – gaming and watching anything fast-paced.
Now when it comes to resolution, it’s not really enough to say something is just 4K. Different TVs use different technologies to help upscale and enhance lower resolution (or lower frame-rate) content to make it appear more high definition. This is super important, as much of the content we watch on our TVs is not native 4K – as in, it’s not really 4K. You can spot content that is 4K on streaming platforms, as it’s clearly marked – but it’s not the norm with everything you watch. This LG C2 TV has the α9 Gen5 AI Processor 4K, which works to atomically adjust the picture for greater clarity, as well as sound, so you essentially make the most out of whatever you’re watching.
120hz refresh rates are practically the norm with higher end TVs nowadays, but they’re still a big deal if you plan on using it for gaming. Depending on your system, whether it be a PS5 or gaming PC, this TV will be able to handle 120 fps – which is akin to an (albeit fairly standard) gaming monitor. This TV draws even more comparisons as it has Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync support – both of which are vital adaptive sync technologies that prevent screen-tearing and stuttering.
Now onto the OLED panel itself. If you didn’t know, OLED panels have self illuminating pixels that can ‘switch off’ to create the darkest of blacks. With the presence of a backlight, which is typically the common setup for most TVs, OLED panels can create a super high contrast picture, making everything look far more realistic and immersive than your standard TVs. However, there is a slight catch, and one that the LG C2 has addressed.
OLED TVs don’t get very bright, as there is no backlight, which is why they’re usually better for low-lit environments rather than bright rooms. The LG C2 features a Brightness Booster to combat this, while still preserving its perfect blacks – a big step in the right direction, and certainly worth paying a premium for in our eyes.
So who’s this for?
I’d say this TV is a great option if you’re pairing it with a PS5, Xbox Series X, or gaming PC with an RTX 40-series GPU or equivalent. It also goes without saying that it’s a great shout for the upcoming PS5 Pro too. Its size is excellent for pretty much any living space, especially if you plan on having some epic movie or sports nights with friends.
While the C3 and even C4 could be a better option for those wanting more recent tech and slightly more refined design, the C2 still holds its own as one of the best TVs around, and at this price we think it’s well worth considering.
