The typical gaming chair is often compared to those in high-end sports cars. Gaming chair manufacturer Vertagear has taken this to the logical conclusion by partnering with premium car manufacturer Audi for a brand new line of gaming chairs. It calls it a “revolutionary line” that “seamlessly blends luxury, performance, and cutting-edge ergonomic design”.

These new Audi-inspired chairs will integrate Vertagear's ergonomic features, including the ‘ContourMax' lumbar support system, which adapts to the user‘s posture to promote proper spine alignment. It will also use VertaAir, an air-cushioning technology that helps make the chair seat more breathable and assists in weight distribution.

On the Audi RS model, there is ‘HygennX’, which combines ‘coffee ground nanotechnology' for odor control, combined with an antimicrobial silver-coated embroidery to keep things fresh. Here’s a rundown of the three new models:

  • SL3800 Audi Edition – $499 –  Everyday comfort meets Audi's signature aesthetics, featuring plush microsuede for a soft, luxurious feel.
  • SL5800 RS Edition – $599 –  High-performance seating with elegant styling, enhanced by HygennX technology for lasting freshness and comfort.
  • PL4800 Audi Sport Edition – $699 – Designed for big and tall users, this premium model incorporates durable microsuede and Audi Sport's iconic design elements for maximum support and style.

Three chairs are being introduced in this new lineup. All are inspired by Audi sports car design cues. These are the base model SL3800 Audi edition, priced at $499. The SL5800 RS Edition, the high-performance model priced at $599, and the PL4800 Audi Sport edition, the premium version specifically designed for big and tall customers to provide maximum support whilst remaining stylish.

“The collection combines Audi's precision craftsmanship with Vertagear's industry-leading expertise in adaptive seating design, delivering an unparalleled experience for gamers and professionals alike.”

All three models come with a heavy-duty five-star solid base, UPHR foam cushioning, and Penta RS1 caster wheels. The Audi RS and Audi Sport models have 4D adjustable armrests and the option for integrating an RGB LED kit.

All three models are now available for pre-order and can be found on the Vertagear website. The chairs are planned for full launch sometime in July 2025. Then perhaps you too can have a reason to say: “Vorsprung durch Technik,” in a dubious German accent.
