The Ryzen 7000 series will sport an X3D version. According to Wccftech, AMD will be unveiling the Zen 4 3D V-Cache parts at CES 2023. This information is known thanks to the leak of an internal roadmap from Team Red itself.

In a tweet by Sebuhsarang, we can also see another picture of AMD’s roadmap. There, we see the appearance of the Ryzen 7000 X3D right between the 2022 and 2023 mark. So, this leaves us with double confirmation of the crucial X3D release.

And we say crucial because it is. If we take a quick look at current Ryzen sales, the company needs the push to achieve early 2022 standards. If the expected release does what the Ryzen 5800 X3D did before it, the company will see the podium one more time.

So, we know there is something big coming thanks to the roadmap, but even if that information is to not be believed, we also have confirmation from the always reliable Wccftech about the X3D specs and existence.

The Ryzen 9 7950X3D & the Ryzen 9 7900X3D will be using two Zen 4 CCDs, as these two registers occupy 12 cores and 16 cores, respectively. We won’t know if AMD will have one CCD stacked with a 3D cache stack, or if these would be stacked as well. However, AMD clearly appears to favor CCDs on top of individual cache stacks. We’ll have to wait and see if AMD will keep the 64MB cache stack or not.

How much will 7000X3D cost?

With all of that information in mind, we can assume with some certainty that this is going to be a strong CPU. And performance comes usually attached to higher prices. Although, we can be sure AMD will be fair with its pricing, as it used to be. If we consider that the Ryzen 5800 X3D was released for only around $100 extra than the normal 5800 model, we can deduce the price of the new CPU. You can see more information about price and specs in the all-inclusive post we made on it, but to summarize, below are the possible prices and SKUs the new X3D might have:

  • Ryzen 9 7950X3D – $799 US
  • Ryzen 9 7900X3D – $649 US
  • Ryzen 7 7800X3D – $449 US
  • Ryzen 5 7600X3D – $349 US
