That being said, in terms of RTX 5070 laptop prices, especially those with larger 18-inch, 2.5K displays and 32GB of DDR5, I’d say this is quite competitively priced right now. For the price, it’s a good call if you’re after quality 1440p and 1600p gaming, Blackwell features, and something capable of handling relatively demanding content creation tasks, too.
What we like about this ASUS TUF A18 gaming laptop
Large, immersive display
You’ve got a big 18-inch 25K resolution IPS screen here, with a very high 240Hz refresh rate. That’s essentially the ideal screen for this type of setup, as it’s going to showcase your games at their best, give you enough headroom for high fps gaming for more competitive titles, and provide excellent brightness, contrast, and color, too.
Ryzen 7 260 processor for excellent multitasking and gaming performance
This CPU is a well-balanced offering, featuring 8 cores, 16 threads, a boost clock speed of 5.1GHz, and 16MB L3 cache. It’s a processor that’s well-suited to the RTX 5070 mobile, and will help deliver high fps gaming at 1440p and 1600p with minimal frame latency. Its core and thread count may not be as big as some Intel options, but it’s still good for heavier multitasking and moderately demanding creative workflows in applications like Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and more.
Excellent mid-range 50-series graphics card
The RTX 5070 mobile is a great shout for anyone looking for high refresh rate 1440p/ 1600p gaming, and something that can handle content creation well, too. Notably, you can leverage this card’s AI capabilities in-game with features like multi-frame generation, and also with a wide variety of workflows where tasks can be accelerated quickly and efficiently with AI.
Loads of DDR5 RAM
You’ve got 32GB of DDR5 RAM here, which is going to be brilliant if you’re planning on putting this laptop through its paces with more demanding, asset-heavy AAA titles and more complex, larger creative projects.
Durable design
ASUS TUF laptops feature military-grade materials, which are designed to be ultra-durable against knocks, bumps, and scrapes. If you’re taking this on the go, this is a game-changer.
Comes with a laptop cooler
A welcome added extra that not only raises the height of your laptop screen to prevent neck strain, but also keeps it running cooler under heavy and sustained loads, ensuring consistent, stable performance.
