A massive 46% off this mid-range 34″ ultrawide gaming monitor has transformed it into a great budget pick

The Amazon Spring Sales may be over, but there are still plenty of opportunities to save big on all things gaming. Right now, there’s a cracking deal running on an ultrawide monitor that packs a serious punch for the price that’s caught our eye, and would be great for anyone building out a cost-effective setup.
This Koorui 34-inch monitor currently has 46% knocked off its list price, bringing it down from $499.99 to just $269.99. That’s a big saving, and brings it from arguably more mid-range to the budget region – pretty great considering it packs some features that are actually quite rare to find at this new price range.
As usual, here’s a few highlights that made this monitor stand out for us, plus, who we think it’ll be ideal for.
KOORUI 34-inch Curved Ultrawide WQHD 3440×1440 Gaming Monitor
- WQHD resolution: More than your standard 1440p resolution, this monitor has more pixel density, meaning you get more space to work in, without losing on picture quality. It’s also 21:9 aspect ratio, as with many ultra-wide monitors, which allows for a greater field of view when gaming, and is an excellent setup if you’re working with multiple windows. Video editors and content creators – this is going to be great for you.
- 1000R curve: The closer this number is to zero, the more aggressive the curve. This curve is actually a good balance between something that will increase immersion, but not distort things too much when using it for other activities, such as watching shows or everyday work.
- HDR 400: This is excellent for the price range, and essentially means that this monitor delivers both on brightness and color.
- DCI-P3 95%: DCI-3 is basically an industry color standard for various creative sectors, with its roots in cinema. The closer to the 100% means that this monitor can replicate more of this color gamut, which means if you’re using it for anything creative, such as video-editing or color grading, you’ll be able to do so with comfort that what you see is accurate to this standard.
- Fast response time: This has a 1ms MPRT response time, instead of your standard GTG. There’s a subtle difference between the two. GTG measures how quick a pixel can change color (from gray to gray), and MPRT measures how long a pixel remains visible during motion. Many argue that MPRT is a better indicator of real-life performance, because the longer a pixel remains, the more ghosting you get. In short, 1ms MPRT is generally seen as better than 1ms GTG – and should ensure a very responsive feel when playing at high fps.
- 165hs refresh rate: Quite standard, even for the new price, but still great to see. This will allow you to game at higher fps, and when combined with AMD FreeSync Premium, that also means you shouldn’t get too much in the way of screen-tearing either.
Who’s this deal for?
This monitor is a bit of gem to be honest, and even at full price, you’re a saving a bit just because it’s not one of the more recognisable brands on the market. That being said, for the new price, you’ve got some premium features that are a real win if you’re looking to spend less, without compromising on performance. This monitor would be ideal for someone looking to primarily use for gaming, and pair with a mid-level gaming setup/ graphics card. Thanks to the DCI-P3 95% rating, it’s also not a bad shout to use for video-editing and content creation too, but if that’s your primarily usage, I’d suggest looking for something flatter, and with a higher color coverage/ brightness – of which there are many available around the same price-point.
We’ll be back with you with more deals, so stay tuned!
