Amazon deal knocks Acer Nitro RTX 5070 gaming laptop to just under $1,200
Table of Contents
This Acer Nitro V gaming laptop is back at its lowest price again on Amazon, with a solid $100 off, coming in at just $1,199.99. That price actually made me do a slight double-take when I came across the deal, as it’s one of the lowest prices I’ve seen for an RTX 5070 laptop, and that makes it pretty appealing. To give you a quick overview of what you’re getting alongside this 50-series graphics card, it features 16GB of DDR5, a WUXGA display, a 512GB SSD, and an Intel Core 7 240H processor. It’s also worth noting that the RTX 5070 in this laptop has a TDP of 85W, according to this other listing and an answer from Acer itself.
As usual, I’ll break down each feature below in more depth, but in short, this laptop is designed for excellent FHD/FHD+ performance on the go and has some solid multitasking and productivity capabilities, too. Sure, a QHD display would be arguably more in line with the RTX 5070’s capabilities, and more storage and RAM have their obvious uses. But considering this is practically the price of a standard RTX 5060 model, it’s serious bang for your buck at its current price. Read on for a closer look at what it brings to the table.

What we like about this Acer Nitro V RTX 5070 gaming laptop
Excellent graphics card for gaming on the go
The RTX 5070 brings with it 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM and a host of Blackwell features, like improved ray tracing and tensor cores, and DLSS 4.5 with MFG. For most people, it’s ideal from a price-to-performance perspective, boasting more raw power than the RTX 5060, but often keeping costs under $2,000 in a laptop.

Well balanced CPU for gaming, multitasking, and more
The Intel Core 7 240H features 10 cores, 16 threads, a 5.2GHz boost clock speed, and a large 24MB L3 cache, making it a well-rounded choice for the RTX 5070, without being over-specced. For FHD and FHD+ gaming specifically, this processor’s larger L3 cache is going to help with smoother performance at high FPS, making it a good choice for competitive play on the go.
WUXGA display is a cost-effective pick, but still packs a high refresh rate
It may not be QHD+, but at 16 inches, 1200p resolution looks crisp and clear regardless. Not only that, but it lands in a very comfortable spot in terms of resolution for the RTX 5070 mobile.
Gaming-appropriate amount of RAM
32GB would unlock some more multitasking and workstation prowess, but 16GB is more than enough for gaming, which is really the main focus of this configuration. What’s more, it helps keep initial costs more reasonable, giving you the option to upgrade should you need to.
