What we like about this Samsung 49-inch QD-OLED gaming monitor
Modern metal finish gives it a premium look and feel
Samsung gaming monitors are some of the sleekest you can get, and this one happens to be just 4.5mm at its thinnest point, giving you something that looks super premium, but at a pretty competitive price point.
QD-OLED display makes for seriously stunning picture quality
With this QD-OLED display, you’re getting bright highlights, extensive 99% DCI-P3 color coverage, and bright highlights, which add up to something that can produce incredibly lifelike images and showcase your games and content at its very best.
It’s brilliant for fast-paced gaming
It has a 240Hz refresh rate and a low 0.03ms response time, which allows for up to 240fps with extremely low motion blur and ghosting. That’s a big win for fast-paced, reactive gaming, and for keeping gameplay generally much smoother and fluid.
Dual QHD resolution makes a lot of sense for most people
Dual QHD is one of the best ways to go from a price-to-performance perspective, as you’re getting crisp picture quality, without shelling out on a higher resolution 5K2K or dual UDH display. It also goes without saying that you don’t need the very top-end graphics card for this type of monitor, either. Something like an RX 9070 XT would be a good shout for a monitor like this.
Features FreeSync Premium Pro for outstanding HDR gaming performance
This helps reduce screen tearing and has low framerate compensation, but its big thing is its ability to reduce lag caused by HDR being switched on in-game. It helps keep everything running smoothly, which is vital for a high-end OLED monitor, which is designed very much with HDR gaming in mind.
Who is this deal for?
So there are a lot of 49-inch QD-OLED options to go for, but if you’re looking for something that packs excellent gaming performance, but is super sleek, then this Samsung ultrawide would be best for you.
Not only does it come with a metal finish that makes it look super high-end, it also has Samsung’s Core Lighting system built in, which also adds another layer of visual interest.
If you’re gaming using the whole screen, it’s a winner at this size as it’ll really up the immersion, and if you simply want to use it like two 1440p monitors, whether that be gaming on one side with various other windows and apps open on the other, it’ a very good option to go for, too.
