Amazon Spring Sale slashed the price on this Ryzen 7 5700 by 28%

All eyes are on the AM5 platform with the inclusion of the Ryzen 9000X3D processors like the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. However, the AM4 platform is alive and kicking, and AMD is still supporting it despite it being nine years old, as they released two new processors in 2024.
This makes the Ryzen 5000 processor a viable option in 2025, and if you’re looking to upgrade on or to the AM4 platform, the Ryzen 7 5700 should be a good option to start from. We spotted this processor in the Amazon Spring Sale with a 28% discount, dropping its price from $175 to $126.

- Cores and threads: The Ryzen 7 5700 has 8 cores and 16 threads based on the Zen 3 (Cezanne) architecture. This is what we usually find in Ryzen 7 processors, but this core and thread count means that it should be able to better handle multi-threaded applications than Ryzen 5 processors.
- TDP: This CPU has a 65W TDP, which puts it on the lower end when it comes to power consumption. This also means that it shouldn’t generate a lot of heat, but overclocking could increase the power draw and the thermal output.
- Boost clock speed: The maximum boost clock speed of the 5700 is 4.6 GHz. This means that it can handle 4.6 billion instructions per clock cycle, which should give it good performance and efficiency.
- Bundled with a cooler: The Ryzen 7 5700 comes bundled with a Wraith Stealth CPU cooler. This means that you won’t have to spend more cash on a cooler, and with its 65W TDP, the stock cooler should be more than enough to keep it running cool.
Who is this deal for?
Anyone looking to upgrade from the Ryzen 3000 processors but doesn’t want to spend a huge amount of money should check out this deal. This is a solid processor and should deliver good productivity and gaming performance. It should also be able to keep up with most of the GPUs at lower resolutions but 1440p would be the sweet spot for it and at 4K the GPU would take over most of the workload. You’ll also have plenty of options to upgrade to on the AM4 platform, and best of all, if you’ve got an AM4 motherboard on hand, you’ll only need to slap the 5700 on top of it and call it a day.
