A very strong pick for creatives, and not bad for gaming, either.

If you’re a professional creative, you’ve no doubt heard of ASUS ProArt Displays, as they’re some of the very top monitors you can buy for editing. You’ve likely also seen that they’re quite pricey, and I can tell you, in my experience, meaningful discounts are fairly rare and few and far between. The name of the game is grabbing it at its best price, rather than looking for massive price drops. Case in point: this 4K OLED 27-inch model is currently at its best price ever on Amazon, coming in at $599.99 with a solid $100 off.

There’s a fair bit to break down with this monitor, which I’ll get into shortly, but here’s the quick version. This monitor is everything you’d expect in terms of professional-quality color accuracy and picture clarity, but it also packs a 120Hz refresh rate and VRR. With most professional creative monitors capped at 60Hz, having 120Hz and VRR adds an extra level of versatility, especially for those who want a display that can be used both to play and test games at high refresh rates, without running into loads of screen tearing and stutter.

Key features of this ASUS ProArt Display

QD-OLED panel

This will provide deep, near-zero blacks, impressive, true-to-life color, and bright highlights. It’s especially good for editing and watching films in HDR.

4K resolution on a 27-inch screen

This combination means you’re getting incredibly crisp picture quality due to its very high PPI, which is going to be excellent for intricate edits, reading text, and much more.

99% DCI-P3 and 100% sRGB

Quite standard and to be expected with this type of monitor, but this is a very good for video editors and those working in web design, too.

Delta E < 1.5 factory calibrated and Calman Verified

Most QD-OLED monitors have Delta E<2 accuracy, so this is even better, and it also comes calibrated to the Calman standard out of the box, so there’s no need for any manual tuning.

USB-C 96W PD

A big win for laptop users, this will allow you to connect a laptop for display, data transfer, and charging via one cable directly to the monitor.

USB-C hub and KVM Switch

You can also plug peripherals directly into this monitor, instead of a PC or laptop. If you’ve got two devices in your setup, like a PC or laptop, then you can switch between them using the KVM Switch, and still use the peripherals without having to unplug anything.

Who is this monitor for?

This is a good monitor to go for if you’re looking for something for a PC and laptop hybrid setup, for editing and gaming, but with much better color accuracy and genuinely useful quality-of-life features than your typical QD-OLED gaming monitor. I’d say that this monitor is very much geared towards professional creatives, and that if you’re perhaps doing more basic video editing work and want something for better gaming performance, I’d opt for a 4K, 144Hz (or 240Hz) QD-OLED monitor from the ASUS ROG lineup instead.
