Core Ultra 7 265 falls to lowest price at Amazon – a multi-core maestro for efficient productivity
Table of Contents
We’ve spotted a new CPU deal that gives a welcome hand to Intel’s Core Ultra 7 265. The 20-core, 20-thread efficiency all-rounder has hit its lowest price ever at Amazon, with a deal tag of $280. That’s well below its typical $371 price, which is where it was up until this price drop. The big $91 (25%) saving is a boost to the oft-overlooked CPU. And it makes it a much better pick for gamers looking for a PC that can do more than handle the latest titles.

Why we like the Intel Core Ultra 7 265
Multi-core muscle
The main reason to pick the Core Ultra 7 265 is its productivity potential. The processor’s 20-core, 20-thread configuration makes it a more appealing option for multi-core tasks, with benchmarks showing it can pip the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X in daily tasks. The deal price drops the 265 to $20 below the 9700X, too, although AMD’s CPU wins in gaming.
Fair gaming CPU
This processor is not to be confused with its Core Ultra 7 265K sibling (the best Intel CPU for gaming). While the 265 non-K isn’t as powerful, it can still handle modern games and easily support current-generation GPUs. So if gaming is part of what you use your PC for, the deal can also deliver a solid platform for modern titles.

PCIe Gen 5
As a current-generation CPU, the Core Ultra 7 265 supports PCIe Gen 5.0, which is specifically useful for supporting the latest NVMe SSDs. That’s important if you’re putting together a productivity or creation-focused PC with a need for data transfer speeds.
What to consider before you buy
We wouldn’t recommend the Core Ultra 7 265 if your sole priority is gaming. While the processor can support the latest Nvidia RTX 50-Series and AMD RX 90 graphics cards, the Core Ultra 7 265K is the far better performer. Similarly, depending on your available budget, you can find far more gaming power with AMD’s X3D processors. However, if gaming is a bonus, or not a concern, then the current price for the 265 ‘non-K’ is a win. It’s a capable, efficient productivity processor now available in the sub-$300 price range.
