Earlier this year, it was reported that prices for SSDs would see a huge hike due to a shortage of NAND flash memory for manufacturers.

This was indeed the case as prices on sites such as Amazon saw a steady but clear rise in prices for M.2 SSDs, specifically 2TB and 4TB options.

Now, it appears as though the direct opposite of the hike is occurring with prices now dropping drastically. A prime example of this is the Crucial P3 Plus 2TB Gen4 M.2 NVMe SSD, which is now on sale with a surprising 31% discount dropping its price down almost below the $100 mark.

It’s now available for just $117.99, which means you’ll be able to save $52 from the original $169.99 price, which would be closer to previous prices for 1TB versions.

Why you should have the Crucial P3 Plus 2TB Gen4 M.2 NVMe SSD on your radar

  • 2TB Storage: Store a plethora of AAA games on your gaming PC, laptop, or console, thanks to the P3 Plus’ 2TB of storage space.
  • M.2 NVMe: Experience greater performance compared to SATA SSDs – ready to ensure performance across the board is improved. 43% faster than Gen3 SSDs.
  • Read/Write Speeds: Experience faster loading speeds in-game, loading into Windows, or transferring files. Read speeds are up to 5000MB/s, and write speeds are up to 4200MB/s.
  • 2230 Form Factor: Looking to get your hands on an ROG Ally X or an adapter for one of your handheld gaming devices? Purchase this SSD in advance, with its 2230 form factor size compatible with multiple platforms.

Is 2TB enough for AAA gaming?

While 4TB may be ideal for storing multiple large AAA games especially now that prices have dropped significantly, 2TB is still more than enough to get the job done.

As it stands, even 1TB can provide a sufficient amount for a variety of PC gamers, so an additional 1TB will mean you won’t find yourself uninstalling games to free up more space as often as before.

If there was any opportunity to save big during a period of price plummets, now would be a great time, as it seems to be that pricing surrounding SSDs can change in an instant.
