Table of Contents
If you work from home and need to make a good impression, or you’re a content creator, a 4K webcam puts you in a good place. Not only can a 4K webcam support, say, YouTube Live’s max resolution, but it can also save you from opting for a more expensive DSLR camera for a home setup. One option is the Elgato Facecam 4K, and at its current Amazon deal price, it’s a better pick. The $200 Facecam 4K is now $180, saving you $20, and it has a few key features we like.

Why we’d pick the Elgato Facecam 4K
Excellent detail and quality
The Elgato Facecam 4K isn’t a DSLR camera. But Elgato believes that its Sony STARVIS 2 CMOS sensor and Elgato Prime Lens technology provide DSLR-like results. It’s not clear how that’s qualified, but Amazon reviewers call the quality “Amazing” and say that it “gives DSLR clarity”. Given its Sony sensor, the detail should be sharp for its 4K60fps video.
Camera Hub for greater control
Elgato’s free Camera Hub software adds an extra layer of possibilities to the Facecam 4K. You can customize your visuals, adjust backgrounds, tweak the dynamic range, brightness, shutter speed, and more. So, whether you’re getting the right adjustments for a work call or getting ready to read a script for a new video, you can control more of the settings you need.

Content creator-friendly
Not only can the Facecam 4K record you in 4K60fps, but it has two other key features. The first is that it works seamlessly with the Elgato Stream Deck, making it an easy win for streamers and content creators who want smooth integration. The second is that the Facecam 4K can be used with any standard 49mm lens filter, which opens it up to DSLR-like use in how you style your shots.
What to consider before you buy
The Elgato Facecam 4K has been cheaper. Still, with this discount, it offers good value and excellent quality for home workers and content creators looking to move from 1080p to 4K. The quality, control, and lens filter support are all there. What isn’t is AI tracking, and if that’s important to you, then an option like the Osbot Tiny 2 Lite may be a better pick. Either way, there are deals to be found on 4K webcams, which is good to see!
