Enormous Samsung 57″ dual 4K gaming monitor $500 off in latest limited time deal

Samsung makes some of the absolute top gaming monitors around, and is well known for really pushing the boundaries when it comes to scale. In fact, just a few years ago I reported on the monstrous Samsung Odyssey Ark, which boasted an enormous curved display that could be rotated vertically…
In-keeping with this theme, I’ve discovered yet another absolute beast in the form of a massive 57″ ultrawide gaming monitor. The good news is that there’s currently a limited time deal on it, which nerfs its price by $500, dropping it from $2,299.99 to $1799.99.
This is the kind of monitor that’s not for everyone of course, but if you are considering it, read on for my take on some of its standout features, and whether it’s ultimately right for you.

SAMSUNG 57″ Odyssey Neo G9 Series Dual 4K UHD 1000R Curved Gaming Monitor
Key standout features explained
The screen itself is Quantum Mini-LED. What is that? Well, it’s basically a hybrid technology (in the same way QD-OLED is). Mini-LEDs are known for precision, while Quantum Dots are known for color and brightness. This combines them both for incredible life-like images. It’s also VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified, which means it’s incredibly bright and has accurate color too.
Notably, it has a 240hz refresh rate, with an impressive 1ms response time. Having this on a dual-4K display is kind of nuts, but it does mean that you can game at super-high frames per second, depending on what system you’ve got linked up to this beast. With AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, you’ll also have everything you need to reduce screen-tearing when doing so too.
Finally we come to the design itself, which Samsung has yet again blown it out the park with. With this monitor, there’s no need for any extra lighting as it features Samsung’s own Core Lighting on the monitor itself. You can customize this however you want, but if you want to up the immersion, you can use CoreSync technology to have the lighting match what’s going on on-screen.
But perhaps the biggest thing here is the most obvious, which is just the sheer size of this monitor. This is ideal for those who want to have multiple windows open, and Samsung has some tricks up its sleeve to accommodate this further. With the picture-by-picture mode, you can essentially do loads of things at the same time, such as gaming, chatting, and watching simultaneously – all in their native resolution. That’s great if you’re streaming, but also has loads of applications from a productivity standpoint too.
Is this monitor for you?
This monitor is a hefty investment, even at its new reduced price, so it’s important that you’re someone who will make the most out of it. Personally, I feel like this is for enthusiast gamers, streamers, and content creators, over those looking for something for productivity. If that sounds like you and you’ve got a PC that won’t struggle with 4K gaming, then this could be the one for you. Just make sure you’ve got enough room, as this is one of the biggest ultrawide monitors I’ve ever come across!
