RX 7900 XT performance

In this section, we’ll showcased the capabilities of the RX 7900 XT so you can make an informed decision.

Gaming performance

We tested the Sapphire RX 7900 XT, which isn’t the same model but the architecture is the same and that is what matters. We ran a handful of games at 1440p and 4K to see how it’ll performance and it didn’t disappoint in the least. In one of the most graphically demanding titles, Cyberpunk 2077, it got 62 FPS at 4K and 119 FPS at 1440p.

In other titles like Shadow of the Tomb Raider, we got 123 and 227 FPS, while less demanding titles like Doom Eternal, had much better results with 195 and 349 FPS at 4K and QHD, respectively. So, this GPU is more than capable of pushing 4K natively and FSR 3 should only help boost its performance.

Synthetic performance

To test its synthetic performance, we ran the suite of 3DMark which includes Fire Strike Ultra, Time Spy Extreme, and Port Royal. In the first test, which works with DX11, this GPU churned out 17,137 points and in Time Spy Extreme, which is more taxing as it works with DX12, we got 12,275 points. So, this clearly shows that it is more than capable of handing 4K rendering.

In Port Royal, which tests the ray tracing performance, the graphics card managed 13,237 points, which is pretty good but not at the same level of its RTX 40-series counterparts. However, it also costs much less so the value for money with this GPU and particular deal is pretty high.
