Premium ultrawide monitors can be super expensive, especially if you’re heading to the leading brands on the market. And to be honest, it’s money well spent to grab more screen real-estate for productivity, a load more immersion for gaming, and something which is genuinely a statement piece in your setup.
The good news is that if you’re looking for a super high-end monitor, but don’t quite fancy paying up to over $1000, I’ve found three premium displays that have now dipped below a grand, bringing them closer in reach to us mere mortals!
You can check them out below, but read on for my quick highlights of each display, and the main features that you should be aware of.

MSI MPG 491CQPX QD-OLED 49-inch QD-OLED
This MSI ultrawide boasts the absolute best panel technology, QD-OLED, which is a hybrid tech pulling in the best of both QLED and OLED displays. It’s DQHD, so this is a ‘super ultrawide’ monitor, offering twice the pixel density of QHD and a 32:9 aspect ratio. Other standout features include its 240hz refresh rate coupled with 0.03ms response time – both of which are only seen in the highest end ultrawide monitors, and are ideal for fast-paced gaming at high fps, and minimising ghosting.
SAMSUNG 49″ Odyssey QD-OLED (G93SC) Series Curved Gaming Monitor – Was $1,599.99, Now $949.99
SAMSUNG 49″ Odyssey QD-OLED (G93SC) Series Curved Gaming Monitor
Samsung makes some of the best ultrawide monitors on the market, and this deal is a real winner. There’s really not much difference apart from the design between this and the MSI option above. Personally, I’d pick this one if I wanted something that blended in better with a more minimal, productivity-first setup – especially with the tasteful core lighting on the back panel.
Overall, a great monitor for the price, and solid alternative to the MSI version mentioned earlier.
LG 34GS95QE 34-inch Ultragear OLED Curved Gaming Monitor – Was $1,299.99, now $757.57
LG 34GS95QE 34-inch Ultragear OLED Curved Gaming Monitor
LG Ultragear monitors are super-premium options, and this one is a good example of smashing every high-end feature into one display. You’ve got an OLED curved monitor here, with WQHD resolution, 240hz refresh rate, 0.03 response time, and matte screen to reduce reflections.
It’s a very impressive monitor that’s super versatile for both gaming and productivity. Most importantly, it’s not too massive that it’ll dominate your setup either, but its 800R curve will make the most out of the size and up the immersion substantially.
Which one is best?
Personally, I think you’re getting the most bang for your buck with the LG 34-inch OLED monitor. I would say that it’s better used as a gaming monitor primarily as the curve is fairly aggressive. It’s great for immersion, but not quite as good for watching films and so on – as it can look a little weird. But for gaming, this is the winner for sure, especially if you pair it with a mid to high level gaming PC to take advantage of the higher frames per second at WQHD resolution. A build with an RTX 4070 or above would go nicely with this.
