HP gaming laptop deal with Ryzen AI 9 HX 375, RTX 5080, and 64GB DDR5 RAM is ideal for gaming on the go
Table of Contents
The HP Omen Max is one of the best gaming laptops we’ve come across and certainly a strong contender for anyone looking for a portable machine with extreme processing power. It is designed for heavy workflows such as AI, content creation, editing, maths, physics, code compilation, and more. It is powered by the Ryzen AI 9 HX 375, one of the best processors on the mobile platform, and the beast, the RTX 5080. Grab it for $3,349.
Just these two components put it in the best laptop conversation, but with an insane 64GB of DDR5 RAM, WiFi 7, Omen Tempest Cooling Pro, and a 2.5K 240Hz display, it has everything you’ll need. Gaming is a breeze, as the GPU can handle any AAA titles at 1600p, but the 100% sRGB coverage enables designers to accurately edit and create media as well.
Another aspect that we really liked was the Unleashed mode, which lets through 250W of power, allowing this laptop to perform at its limits and handle workflows that are overwhelming for others. This is a very nifty feature to have on your side, as you never know when you’ll find yourself in a pickle, and it also tailors it for power users, scientists, enthusiasts, and more.

What made the HP Omen Max stand out
A beast of a processor and graphics card
The Ryzen AI 9 HX 375 comes with 12 cores, 24 threads, and a 5.1GHz boost clock speed. It is designed to excel in all scenarios, whether it is gaming, creative tasks, AI, or more. It has a dedicated NPU and graphics, but with the RTX 5080 by your side, you probably won’t need to tap into that. It can keep up with the GPU easily at lower resolutions; however, when it comes to multitasking, that is where it’ll truly excel given its high core and thread count. Other than that, the NPU will help with data preparation, ML, lightweight inference, etc.
Factoring in the processing power of the RTX 5080, there isn’t anything that you should have trouble with, as this pairing is made for extreme situations and processing. So, you’ll get an efficient output and a quick turnaround. NVIDIA Studio will help streamline creative workflows, while the game-specific technologies like DLSS 4.5 and Reflex 2 ensure a smooth gaming experience even if you’ve enabled ray tracing.
Eye-catching display
The 2560 x 1600p display of this gaming laptop is a major attraction. The 16:10 aspect ratio gives it more screen real estate, which is better for gaming and work. The gameplay is smooth and responsive thanks to the 240Hz refresh rate, and the anti-glare functionality should keep you firing outdoors and in bright rooms. This display also covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut, meaning you can color grade and edit content with absolute certainty that what you’re seeing is what others will see as well.
The reason for that is that the majority of content we see online or in different media is designed for 100% sRGB. So, with this display, you can tailor your content according to that.
Omen Tempest Cooling Pro
The Omen Tempest Cooling Pro is made of three major components: a vapor chamber and heat pipes, Omen Cryo compound, and self-cleaning fans. When all of these elements are combined, absolute cooling performance is all but guaranteed, and that is what we love to see in a gaming laptop with such powerful hardware. This will ensure that the entire build remains cool, the CPU and GPU don’t overheat, and the self-cleaning fans keep in tip-top shape after heavy gaming and working sessions. This cooling design pairs perfectly with the Unleashed mode that allows the CPU and GPU to receive 75W and 175W, respectively.
