HP OMEN laptop with RTX 5060, Ryzen AI 9 365, and 32GB of DDR5 sees $300 shaved off its price at Newegg
Table of Contents
You can save a cool $300 on this HP Omen gaming laptop at Newegg right now, which is now down from $2,099.00 to $1,799.00. This gaming laptop is a cut above some of your more budget-friendly RTX 5060 models, but at a slightly more premium price point, you are getting a lot of bang for your buck.
The main areas it levels up are its screen, RAM, and processor, in addition to its overall premium design and build quality. In this case, you’ve got a larger 17.3-inch screen that’s FHD and 144Hz, 32GB of DDR5, and a very powerful Ryzen AI 9 365 processor. With the CPU and RAM especially, it makes this laptop excellent for gaming performance, but also unlocks some solid multitasking and workstation capabilities. That’s great if you want something powerful for more than just gaming.
HP OMEN 17.3″ NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Gaming Laptop
Of course, you’re also getting Blackwell features thanks to its 50-series graphics card, which include 8GB of faster GDDR7 VRAM, MFG, 9th-gen Nvidia Encoders, and more. It’s a higher-end RTX 5060 laptop, for sure, but still not completely overkill for most people who want something to game on the go with and also handle relatively demanding workflows, like video editing and graphic design. Overall, for the price, it’s a solid ‘do-it-all’ option for those who would prefer to push their money towards more RAM and a quality CPU, rather than a higher-end RTX 50-series GPU for, say, QHD gaming and very demanding creative workflows.

What we like about this HP Omen gaming laptop
Larger screen comes in handy for more than just gaming
You get a touch more immersion, but also some more breathing room for multiple windows and creative application UIs.
Loads of RAM boosts gaming performance and workflows
With 32GB, you can expect minimal micro-stuttering in asset-heavy games, smoother, more responsive opening of applications, and multitasking. It’ll be especially noticeable when working on complex creative projects.
Powerful Ryzen 9 CPU
This processor features 10 cores, 20 threads, a 24MB L3 cache, and a boost clock of 5GHz, making it brilliant for gaming at higher frame rates with low latency and a solid pick for tasks like streaming, content creation, and running various background apps.
Affordable RTX 50-series card that still packs a punch
With 8GB of GDDR7, 4th-gen ray tracing cores, and 5th-gen tensor cores, this card is great for AAA gaming in FHD at high settings and is also primed for use in many of the most popular creative applications, too.
Considerations before buying
I’d say if you’re going to be using your laptop for professional-grade video editing, it’s worth looking at models with OLED or mini-LED displays, as these tend to have very accurate color and cover a lot of the DCI-P3 space (used primarily in the digital film industry). For the same price, you could potentially find one of these screens, but from my experience, they tend to come with higher-end RTX 50-series laptops, like an RTX 5070 or RTX 5070 Ti.
