Table of Contents
This 55-inch Sony Bravia 7 mini-LED TV is sitting at its best price on Amazon again, and it’s worth checking out while it’s still on sale. It’s currently down 21% on its list price and coming in at $1,098.00, which is not bad at all considering this is a premium mid-range offering that delivers exceptional picture quality, gaming performance, and boasts a wide range of Sony technology designed to further improve your viewing experience. Here’s a closer look at what this TV brings to the table, so you can decide whether it’s right for you.
What we like about this Sony 55-inch Bravia 7 mini-LED TV
Mini-LED makes with XR Backlight Master Drive
With this mini-LED display, you’re getting thousands of tiny LEDs that are precisely controlled by Sony’s XR Backlight Master Drive, which means exceptional contrast and brightness for a lifelike, cinematic, and atmospheric viewing experience.
QLED with XR Triluminos Pro
XR Trimuminos Pro technology essentially analyses color on screen and makes sure that what you’re seeing is as close to real life as possible. This can be a game-changer for much more subtle hues, like skin tones, for example, or for experiencing true-to-life color in nature documentaries, instead of something fairly oversaturated.

XR processor
The better the processor, the better the TV can optimize picture quality in realtime, as a rule of thumb. With this XR processor, you can expect everything to look its best, whether that’s watching films in 4K HDR, or watching lower resolution content on various streaming platforms.
A good pick for console gaming, especially PS5
No surprises here, as this TV features a 120Hz native refresh rate, allowing for up to 120fps in 4K. It also has Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode, both of which basically ‘align’ the TV more closely with the PS5 automatically for better visuals and smoother, more responsive performance.
Support for Dolby Vision and Atmos
Dolby Vision support means it can change its picture settings on the fly, scene by scene, for the best HDR presentation possible when watching films. And Atmos support sets this TV up to be paired with soundbars and surround sound speakers for a fully immersive 3D audio experience.
Google TV platform
Gives you easy access to everything in one place, whether that’s streaming platforms, apps, or even your smart home devices. Also a good pick if you’ve got an Android phone, which works seamlessly for casting and even for using it as a remote.
Is this deal right for you?
At 55 inches, this is designed for smaller spaces where you still want outstanding picture quality and gaming performance, and for the price, it’s pretty tempting in that regard. The thing you’ll be weighing up is whether to opt for an OLED instead, which can hover around the same price if you go for a lower-end premium model. Personally, I think this Sony TV is very strong for he price, especially with its XR processor and excellent features for PS5.
