AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 6-Core, 12-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor

What we like about this CPU

  • Fast clock speeds: This CPU has a punchy boost speed of up to 5.3GHz and does very well in single-core tasks, making it great for gaming.
  • 6 cores and 12 threads: Essentially the sweet spot for most setups that balances both performance and efficiency. Generally speaking, for tasks like content creation, video editing, or if you’re just running a load of applications at the same time, this will be great. The fact that it’s not as beefy as some of the other higher end CPUs means that it’s much easier to keep cool too.
  • AM5 platform: While AM4 isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, AM5 is where you want to be right now, especially if you plan on upgrading your system over the next few years. The good news is that you won’t need to buy a new motherboard anytime soon if you did want to upgrade your CPU – a big, cost-effective win in our books.
  • PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 support: You can essentially unlock access to some of the absolute latest technology, such as the far more advanced DDR5 RAM and PCIe 5.0, which will allow you to pair this with one of the latest GPUs on the market in the future, should you wish.
  • Great value for money: Even at full price, this is very appealing from a price vs performance standpoint.

Who’s this deal for?

This is a great deal for anyone looking to kick-start their AM5 build for less, and step onto a new upgrade path without having to shell out too much for the privilege. It’s also great for anyone who wants to take the savings from the deal itself, and reinvest it into other components, such as DDR5 RAM, a new AM5 compatible motherboard, or even one of the newer graphics cards.

Overall, for price, we think it’s an excellent deal well worth considering.
