Razer has been synonymous with pro gaming keyboards for years. And while some may call for a new full (V4) Razer lineup to emerge, the recently released Huntsman V3 TKL is every bit a rapid competitive option for home and online gaming. And its first discount at Amazon makes it a much more viable option. The V3 TKL 8KHz became available in May with an MSRP of $170. But its discount price is $120, a sizable $50 (29%) price drop.

Why we like the Razer Huntsman V3 TKL

Tuned to Esports

The Huntsman V3 TKL uses Razer’s Gen 2 Analog Optical Switches, with Rapid Trigger. Essentially, this means the actuation of its keys can be adjusted from 0.1mm to 4mm so you can find the perfect response for your gaming needs. That’s great if you have specific requirements for competitive or Esports gaming.

Speed and endurance

The 8000Hz (8KHz) polling rate is 8x the keyboard industry standard, translating to near-instant responsiveness and near-zero input latency. So where reactions matter, the Huntsman V3 TKL has the speed to deliver in FPS and Esports titles where every millisecond matters. Plus, the keyboard’s Doubleshot PBT keycaps are more resistant to fade and shine.

Quiet and compact

Distracting click-clack noise shouldn’t be an issue thanks to individually lubricated switches. Meanwhile, foam dampening helps to prevent disturbances during game sessions. That smaller audio output matches the smaller-than-usual physical profile of this TKL (tenkeyless) gaming keyboard, which gives you more mouse space and less desk clutter!

What to consider before you buy

TKL gaming keyboards are ideal if you want more desk (mouse) space and rarely use your numpad or associated keys. However, if you use your keyboard for non-gaming reasons, that’s a big consideration, since the numpad area often includes media and additional controls. Still, at $50 less than its release price, we think the Razer Huntsman V3 TKL is an excellent option for committed eSports and competitive gamers. Just make sure it suits your needs before you buy.
