There’s little doubt that Logitech G accessories strive for quality and performance. But the Logitech G Astro A50 gaming headset is certainly steeply priced. It may be a multi-platform headset for PCs and consoles that can connect to three systems at once. And it may offer powerful audio processing and Lightspeed connectivity, but $300 is a price we’d only want to see drop. Thankfully, a new Amazon discount makes the Astro A50 available for $240, a handy $60 (20%) saving.

Why we like the Logitech G Astro A50 gaming headset
Three-system switching
The headline feature of the Astro A50 is its Playsync Audio 3-system switching. This means you connect the headset dock to three devices (eg, PC, Switch, and PS5) via USB-C. You can then instantly switch audio and mic connections between those devices. For device-agnostic gamers, that’s excellent usability, and the only downside is that you cannot connect four devices (it does support Xbox).
High-quality audio and mic and sound mixing
As you’d expect from a $300 gaming headset, the Astro A50 delivers impressive clarity and responsiveness, powerful audio processing for immersive gaming, and what Logitech calls a broadcast-quality mic (at 48KHz). That’s not all, though, since you can connect to a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth and mix music into your Discord calls or game audio. That’s ideal if you like added audio enjoyment while you game.

The Logitech G Astro A50 has a 24-hour battery life (at 78 dB). That means you can play for, literally, a full day before you need to recharge. However, in reality, unless you’re gaming for 24 hours straight, you shouldn’t need to wait for it to charge before you game. Plus, the Base Station includes a magnetic charging dock, so you know the A50 will always be secure when in place.
What to consider before you buy
We love the fact that the Logitech G Astro A50 can connect to three separate devices at once. And we also love that it can mix in music audio to Discord calls or gaming sounds. At its deal price, the connectivity, functionality, and audio quality are a far better combination than at the full $300. Even so, more than $200 may be too much to pay for some users. You may not need to – premium gaming headsets that don’t connect to three devices at once are more affordable. But if you have a multi-platform need, this discount may be one you’ve been waiting for.
