When it comes to truly low-cost Android tablets, TCL stands out. The TCL TAB 10 Gen 4 is a 10.1-inch Android tablet with a Full HD display, an eight-core processor, and a $200 list price. It’s already on the affordable side at that price, but an Amazon discount has pushed it back down to its best price at $150. That makes it a viable alternative to the OS-limited but affordable Fire HD range, with a few key highlights.

Why we’d pick the TCL TAB 10 Gen 4 tablet

10.1-inch Full HD screen

The key feature of the TCL TAB 10 Gen 4 is its large 10.1-inch Full HD 1920×1200 screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio. It’s a size for comfortable casual use and enjoyment, including watching shows and content. The Screen also attracts a lot of compliments from Amazon reviewers who rate it highly for viewability and daily use.

Solid performance, big expandable storage

For $150 at the deal price, this TCL tablet reportedly offers solid performance. Featuring an eight-core MediaTek processor and 4GB of RAM, it’s no powerhouse but should easily handle casual daily needs and light productivity. One big positive is the expandable storage. While the tablet has 128GB of internal storage, this can be expanded up to 1TB with a microSD card.

Slim, smart design

More affordable tech isn’t necessarily less sleek. This isn’t a premium device, but a slim, lightweight metal design promotes portability and comfortable use. The TCL TAB 10 Gen 4 is 0.30 inches thick, and it weighs just 0.87lbs, so it’s easy to enjoy on your travels and easy to carry around the house.

What to consider before you buy

This tablet is a fantastic option for low-cost Android access. It has decent specs, a likable screen, and massively expandable storage. However, don’t expect premium performance. The TCL TAB 10 Gen 4 tablet is a good alternative to Amazon’s more restrictive Fire HD tablets, but it’s not as powerful as the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11. If you want more performance, that’s probably the next step up.
