Mid-range LG 85″ mini-LED TV spotted at a new record-low price on Amazon
Table of Contents
This LG 85-inch mini-LED TV has dipped to its lowest price ever on Amazon and is now coming in at just $929.99. In terms of pricing, while it is pretty expensive, it’s still competitive for a TV this big, and especially one that’s mini-LED. Here’s a quick breakdown of what you’re getting.
Mini-LED TVs like these have more precise control over brightness and contrast than your standard LCD/LED models. That’s down to the fact that there are more LEDs and they’re smaller; hence the ‘mini-LED’ name. If you’re after superior picture quality, but without OLED pricing, then mini-LED TVs like this one are the way to go.
This TV’s processor is quite interesting, as it does much more than the typical chips found in entry-level TVs. This A7 AI processor 4K Gen9 can enhance sound, upscale lower-resolution content to near-4 K quality, and even dynamically enhance HDR10 content in realtime. This is going to be excellent if you’re watching content through streaming platforms or YouTube, where source audio and picture quaility can be inconsistent.

For gaming, this TV is fine for most people, aside from those looking to play at 120fps at 4K. It is 60Hz native and features FreeSync Premium and ALLM, making it a good choice for smooth, responsive gaming at up to 60fps. Take note of this if you have a console or PC that can hit above 60fps at 4K, as you may be better off with a 120Hz native refresh rate model instead.
Other notable features include its Gallery Plus functionality, which allows you to transform this huge TV into a massive work of art when not in use, and it also features Filmmaker mode, which reverts a movie back to its original picture settings, so you can watch it in the way it was intended to be.
