More affordable Acer gaming laptop falls back to best price in new Amazon deal
Table of Contents
Entry-level gaming laptops are perfect if you want a machine for daily productivity and enjoy real, not just casual, gaming. The Acer Nitro V 16 (ANV16-61-R2QY) is a good example of a device to match those needs, and a new Amazon deal has dialled up its affordability. As a solid choice for entering into laptop gaming, the laptop’s regular price is $1,300. It was $100 cheaper in June before spiking, but that $100 saving is back, putting the laptop at its best-ever price of $1,200.

Why we like the Acer Nitro V 16
A real gaming laptop
This laptop’s RTX 5060 mobile GPU isn’t the entry-level graphics solution in Nvidia’s laptop-friendly list. And it’s actually very capable of high settings 1080p gaming across a wide range of games. The Nitro V16’s 1920 x 1200 (FHD+) display is what the GPU needs to power, and it will do so ably, making it a cost-conscious choice.
Decent CPU
AMD’s Ryzen AI 5 340 Processor is paired with the RTX 5060, and it’s one step up from the entry-level CPU in this AMD range. You can expect ample power for daily productivity and tasks, and to help games shift along at a good rate. And if you need a laptop that’s ready for AI tools, then there’ll be enough performance here.

Fast, clear display
Not only is this laptop’s 16-inch 1920 x 1200 display more than enough for Full HD 1080p gaming, but it’s quick. At 180Hz native refresh rate, the screen supports up to 180 frames per second. That means you can enjoy smooth gaming and daily use, especially with its 16:10 ratio, vibrant colors, and 300nit brightness.
What to consider before you buy
At its current price, the Acer Nitro V 16 (ANV16-61-R2QY) could be one of the best gaming laptops available right now for a lower cost. The current $100 discount at Amazon should make this laptop a great first pick if you’re looking for a model that can genuinely play games at 1080p resolutions.
That it can easily double up as a daily-use computer (if you don’t need high performance) means it could also be a good upgrade option if your budget is limited. However, if you want gaming performance for superfast Full HD (touching on 1440p) in top titles, an RTX 5070 laptop would be better.
