Newegg deal drops stylish Alienware RTX 5050 laptop to its lowest in 30 days at under $1,100
Table of Contents
One of Alienware’s more budget-friendly gaming laptops has a decent discount at Newegg, and it’s well worth a look if you’re on the hunt for something for 1080p gaming that’s also super stylish. This Alienware Aurora gaming laptop is $170 off, and has been reduced from $1,249.99 to $1,079.99, which isn’t bad at all, considering its laptops tend to command a more premium price point. You’ve got an RTX 5050 mobile paired with an Intel Core i7 240H, which makes it a solid option for 1080p gaming at high refresh rates, multitasking, light creative work, and productivity. It also has a 300 nit, WQXGA resolution screen, which will look super crisp and clear thanks to its smaller 16-inch sizing. Overall, it’s a quality, wallet-friendly pick with Alienware’s signature build quality and design, that’s going for a pretty reasonable price if you ask us, all things considered.

Key features of this Alienware Aurora RTX 5050 gaming laptop
Intel Core 7 240H processor
This laptop features an Intel Core i7 240H processor, which is an excellent CPU designed for thin and light laptops, and a great pick for gaming on the go. It has a boost clock speed of 5.2GHz, and 24MB Intel Smart cache, which makes it capable of handling 1080 and 1440p at high fps with low frame latency. For multitasking, it’s a solid option with its 10 cores (6P and 4E), and 16 threads, which make it adept for tasks like streaming, but also good for creative workflows in applications like Adobe Premiere Pro or Blender, for example, allowing for faster rendering and exporting times.
RTX 5050 mobile graphics card
You’ve got an RTX 5050 mobile GPU in this configuration, which is the most affordable out of the 50-series lineup for laptops. It has 8GB of VRAM, 2,560 CUDA cores, and a 128-bit bus, which makes it a good option for 1080p gaming, especially when you leverage DLSS and MFG technology. Like the rest of the 50-series, it also features 4th-gen ray tracing cores and 5th-gen tensor cores, the latter of which gives it a big AI-performance boost that’s great for gaming, but also excellent with other AI-related tasks, like real-time AI effects or faster usage with tools like Stable Diffusion.

Display
This laptop has a 16-inch WQXGA display, which is a very good size-to-resolution ratio that makes everything look crisp and clear. This screen is 120Hz, which is decent for high fps gaming, too, and not too overkill for the RTX 5050’s capabilities, either. On top of that, it has pretty good brightness, coming in at 300 nits, which will be clearly visable when using in daylight, and will help colors look more vibrant on-screen.
RAM and storage
In a curiously confusing move, the listing here only states that this laptop has 16GB of RAM, but not what type it is. I took a look around at other retailers for the same laptop, and it appears to be DDR5, but I’d advise triple-checking before you buy, just in case. Either way, 16GB of RAM is great for something like the RTX 5050 mobile, which will typically be used for less RAM-intensive activities. That said, it’s still enough to keep everything feeling snappy and responsive, and it does give you a decent amount of headroom if you’re using this laptop for video or photo editing. On the storage side, you’ve got a 1TB SSD, which is decent for this price point, and gives you ample room for a good handful of games.
Things to consider
So it’s not uncommon to see RTX 5050 laptops for under $1,000 when discounted, but they’re often nowhere near as stylish as Alienware’s offerings, which, for many, myself included, is an important factor. If you’re really sticking to a budget, though, I’d say it’s worth checking out options from Acer Nitro, ASUS TUF gaming, MSI, and Gigabyte for cost-effective alternatives. You may also want to explore some of the RTX 5060 laptops on the market, too, which have 3,328 CUDA cores to the RTX 5050’s 2,560, and are punchier for 1080p and 1440p gaming, and can handle more demanding rendering tasks in creative applications more easily as well.
