Table of Contents
This iBuyPower Slate gaming PC is currently 23% off its list price at Newegg and going for $1,599.99, with a free Control Resonant gaming bundle thrown in. In terms of pricing, this build sits on the lower end of what you’d pay for something with an RTX 5070, which is great if you’re after beefier performance than your typical RTX 5060 PC, but without a huge leap in spend.
iBUYPOWER Slate Gaming PC, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 12GB GPU
Being on the more affordable side, you’re getting a Ryzen 7 8700F processor. This CPU features 8 cores and 16 threads, so it has some decent multitasking capabilities for the price. Its boost clock is also quite high, coming in at 5GHz, but its L3 cache is a somewhat modest 16MB. For QHD gaming, that’s not bad, but if you’re after very high frame rates at FHD, you may want to explore CPUs with larger, but generally more expensive, L3 caches. The good news is that it’s on the AM5 platform, so your upgrade pathway is pretty clear.

This PC also opts for 16GB of RAM, instead of 32GB, which helps it stay closer to the $1,500 mark. It’s DDR5, so you can benefit from improved speeds, and it’s more than enough to ensure smooth gaming performance. Storage is 1TB, as expected, and fine for moderately sized gaming libraries. Its air cooler is also more than adequate for the Ryzen 7 8700F’s 65W TDP, and should provide plenty of thermal headroom for sustained gaming performance.
Why consider this iBuyPower Slate gaming PC?
Its graphics card is brilliant for QHD gaming, and packs modern Blackwell features
With 12GB of GDDR7 VRAM, improved ray tracing and tensor cores, plus features like DLSS 4.5, this graphics card is a very complete package that’s still significantly less expensive in a prebuilt PC than opting for an RTX 5070 Ti.
Future-facing AM5 platform
One way to save cash on a build is to simply opt for AM4 or LGA 1700 setups, but this limits upgradeability in some respects. This PC is AM5 and packs a decent cooler that could work well with some mid-to-higher end Ryzen processors in the future, giving you more flexibility.
Stylish design with a keyboard and mouse thrown in
It’s ready to go straight out of the box, and with its tempered glass panel, RGB lighting, and unique, futuristic aesthetic, it’s going to look great in any setup.
