Table of Contents
This iBuyPower Y40 gaming PC is now down $200 at Newegg and is coming in at its lowest price in 30 days at $2,199.99. This is a very impressive build and a level-up from your typical sub-$2000 RTX 5070 options. With this build, you’re getting one of the best gaming CPUs on the market, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, a hefty 32GB of DDR5 RAM, 1TB of storage, impressive 360mm liquid cooling, and, of course, something from a brand with a great reputation.
First off, the RTX 5070 is a brilliant card in its own right, especially if you want to keep costs down and grab something excellent for 1440p. You’re getting Blackwell features and improvements, like 12GB of faster GDDR7 VRAM, 4th-gen ray tracing cores, and 5th-gen tensor cores. MFG in particular helps it punch above its weight and makes even 4K gaming playable, too.

But the big thing here is its quality AM5 X3D processor, with its enormous 96MB L3 cache. This CPU can easily be paired with some of the best graphics cards on the market and is specifically designed for extremely low-latency gaming and super-smooth performance. Combined with this PC’s robust cooling architecture and roomy PC case, it’s a foundation that’s pretty much primed for an RTX 5070 Ti upgrade in the future. That being said, I’d probably swap out the 750W PSU for something more powerful.

Who is this gaming PC for?
This PC is basically for anyone who wants a complete RTX 5070 package, without skimping on future-proofing, aesthetics, cooling, and especially gaming performance. Its CPU may be a little overkill for the card as it stands, but if high-refresh-rate, ultra-smooth QHD gaming is your number one priority, it’s well worth investing in.
Who isn’t this gaming PC for?
Personally, for the cash, if I wanted something for gaming, heavy multitasking, and creative work, I’d lean towards higher core-count CPUs. Something like an RTX 5070, Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus build would be brilliant. You can spend less and opt for an Intel Core Ultra 7 265K, which is also good, but I think the former has the edge when it comes to gaming and is exceptional for creative workloads, rendering, streaming, and much more.
- More tPrimed for outstanding gaming performance with one of the best gaming CPUs on the market
- Brilliant graphics card with Blackwell features, ideal for QHD gaming
- Very robust cooling and a roomy PC case form a solid foundation for upgrades
- A genuinely great-looking prebuild
- Comes with a keyboard and mouse
- On the more expensive side for an RTX 5070 build
- Its CPU is a touch overkill for the GPU, so you could opt for something less powerful, and it would still be appropriate
- Its PSU is good for now, but would likely need upgrading if you went from an RTX 5070 to an RTX 5070 Ti
- ‘Only’ 8 cores with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which is way less than a typical Intel Core Ultra processor
