Outstanding TCL 65″ SQD-mini-LED TV crashes to its lowest price ever on Amazon
Table of Contents
This TCL 65-inch QM8L Series TV has hit its lowest price ever on Amazon, at 52% of its original list price. It’s now coming in at just $1,197.99, and here’s what it brings to the table, along with its most important specs and features.
First off, it’s a SQD-mini LED TV, which is essentially the latest iteration of QD-mini LED. What you’re getting here is even better color and brightness, with outstanding contrast and reduced haloing, for fantastic picture quality. HDR support is comprehensive, notably supporting Dolby Vision IQ. This means that the TV itself can adjust its picture settings dynamically throughout a film, but also take into account ambient lighting, too. To round out the home theatre experience, it features built-in sound tuned by Bang & Olufsen and supports Dolby Atmos for a much more immersive and cinematic soundstage out of the box.

On the gaming side, it’s pretty impressive, too. It packs a 144Hz refresh rate and features FreeSync Premium Pro and ALLM. This is a combination designed with high refresh rate gaming in mind, particularly when paired with a high-end console or gaming PC. With FreeSync Premium Pro, in particular, you’re going to be getting very strong HDR gaming performance.

The processor here is also noteworthy, as it’s TCL’s latest AI Pro model, which effectively optimizes contrast, motion, clarity, and more in real time. Processors like these are especially important if you’re watching lower-resolution content on a big screen, as they are responsible for upscaling to near 4K quality, amongst many other things.
What we like about this TCL 65-inch Class QM8L Series TV
Incredible color, contrast, and brightness for the price
This model has up to 4,000 local dimming zones and up to 6,000 nits peak brightness, and TCL actually claims that SQD can capture 100% of BT.2020 color, too. That’s a potent combination for striking, cinematic, and lifelike visuals.
Quality gaming features for console and PCs
If you have a PS5, Xbox Series X, or gaming PV with a higher-tier graphics card, this TV’s VRR, ALLM, and high refresh rate make it a prime candidate for high-framerate, low-latency gaming.
Immerssive sizing and brilliant for home theatre setups
It’s got pretty much everything you’d need for an epic home entertainment setup, especially for movies. Comprehensive HDR support, Dolby Atmos, Bang & Olufsen-tuned speakers, and of course, a large 65-inch screen.
