Power your next-gen gaming PC with the Corsair RM850x for 10% less – Amazon Spring Sales
Table of Contents
It is day three of the Amazon Spring Sales, and we’re seeing everything from motherboards and processors to gaming PCs and SSDs go on sale, providing an excellent opportunity to put together a new gaming PC for cheap. However, a vital component of the build is the PSU, and while it might not be as fancy as an AIO cooler or graphics card, the system can’t operate without it.
In addition, if you’re building a high-end PC, you’ll need a robust power supply unit that can take care of the power requirement and safeguard the system in case of power spikes. The Corsair RM850x is on sale with 10% off from its original price of $149.99, bringing it down to $134.99. We’ve also reviewed a different variant of this PSU, the RM850x Shift White, so you can check that out to see how it’ll perform.
CORSAIR RM850x
Why we like this deal
- High efficiency: This power supply unit has a Cybenetics Gold efficiency rating. According to Corsair, this rating means that it is 87% to 89% efficient. This means that most of the energy being pulled from the wall socket will be utilized, resulting in better efficiency and lower electricity costs in the long run.
- ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 compliant: The Corsair RM850x comes with a 12V-2×6 connector, which is required for the RTX 50-series. So, you don’t need any adapters or external cables, and you can use that single cable to power the high-end GPU. You can also easily use it with the Radeon 9000 GPUs. |
- Great overhead: The 850W of capacity means that you can easily pair high-end components without worrying about whether the PSU will be able to handle them or not. For example, if you use the RX 9070 XT, which drew 360W of power during our testing, and pair it with the Ryzen 9 9950X, which has a 170W TDP but let’s say it can pull 200W when under great stress, it’ll total to 560W. This means that you’ll still have 290W of overhead for other components and to cater to any overclocking efforts.
- Fully modular: This 850x is also fully modular, meaning that all the cables aren’t permanently attached to it. So, you can choose to make the required connections and keep the unused cable in the box. This should lead to less clutter and better cable management.
Who’s this deal for
The Corsair RM850x is one of the best power supplies out there for any build, but we recommend it for high-end builds due to its excellent features, overhead, and price point. So, if you were upgrading your components and had to get a new PSU or were building a gaming PC from scratch and wanted a power supply unit that could easily handle anything besides the RTX 5090, we recommend you check out the RM850x. Also, check out our in-depth review of the RM850x Shift White as that’ll give you an idea of what to expect from this PSU and make an informed decision.
