Gaming laptops aren’t immune to the component price rises we’ve seen this year. But we’re still seeing some noteworthy deals, like the latest on Acer’s Predator Helios Neo 18 (PHN18-72-9474). The RTX 5070 Ti gaming laptop is now at its record-low price on Amazon, thanks to a limited-time deal that’s cut it from $2,800 to $2,200. That’s a very handy $600 (21%) saving for a fully kitted device capable of 2K gaming and strong productivity performance.

Why we like the Acer Predator Helios Neo 18
Impressive 240Hz screen
This Predator Helios Neo 18 model has an impressive 18-inch 2560 x 1600 LCD screen, supporting a huge 240Hz refresh rate and 3ms (overdrive) response time. That makes it perfect for 2K gaming, and it also features excellent color accuracy thanks to its up to 100% DCI-P3 gamut coverage.
Compelling CPU
This laptop depends on the Intel Core Ultra 9 Processor 275HX to beat at its core. The Arrow Lake processor isn’t unlike the desktop Intel Core Ultra 9 Processor 285K, which is to say it’s a very capable gaming, productivity, and creativity option, featuring 24 cores, 24 threads, and a good degree of power efficiency too.

Smooth 2K gaming
Thanks to its RTX 5070 Ti mobile GPU, this PHN18-72-9474 variant of the Predator Helios Neo 18 is a clear 2K gaming laptop. It has the performance and credentials to cover modern titles at up to 1600p resolution, which is exactly what you want when you buy a gaming laptop in this model’s regular price range.
What to consider before you buy
The Predator Helios Neo 18 (PHN18-72-9474) is a well-specced model going up against the likes of the ROG Strix G18 and the HP Omen Max in the mid-range gaming laptop market. This deal boosts the value substantially, but you should still compare prices as things can change quickly. Additionally, some testers have observed that the long-term stability of this laptop has been preferred over unchecked performance – so if you’re keen on extreme 2K performance (and the added heat it brings), you may not find that here.
