Acer Nitro laptops are always a good port of call if you’re looking for an RTX 50-series machine that’s more budget-friendly. This particular model, which packs an RTX 5060, 16G of DDR5, a Ryzen AI 7 350, and an FHD+ display, is currently $100 off its list price and comes in at $1,349.99 on Amazon. That’s its lowest price in months, and it’s back at its lowest recorded price once more, too.

Here’s a breakdown of what this laptop brings to the table, which is, if you’re short on time, solid FHD gaming performance, modern Blackwell features, decent workstation capabilities, and good overall portability via its slim and relatively lightweight build.

What we like about this Acer Nitro V 16S gaming laptop

Decent CPU for the price

The Ryzen AI 7 350 has 8 cores, 16 threads, a boost clock speed of 5GHz, and a 16MB L3 cache. At this price point, it’s not going to be some ultra-powerful, all-rounder, but it’s still an appropriate pick for the RTX 5060, especially for gaming in FHD. On top of that, its relatively high core count lends itself well to multitasking and general productivity, too.

Blackwell features help the RTX 5060 punch above its weight

The RTX 5060 features 8GB of faster, higher-bandwidth GDDR7 VRAM, 4th-gen ray tracing cores, and 5th-gen tensor cores, making it a strong option for 1080p and 1200p performance. With features like DLSS and MFG, it’s a solid, budget-friendly pick for gaming on the go.

High refresh rate display

This IPS 16-inch FHD+ screen has a 180Hz refresh rate, making it a good option for high-frame-rate gaming. It’s also a much smarter pick than a 1600p panel for the RTX 5060’s capabilities. It also has 100% sRGB and 400 nit brightness, which is much better than some alternative budget-friendly options, which can make games look washed out and drab.

16GB DDR5 is a sensible starting point for this configuration, as is its 1TB SSD

This is great for gaming and for general productivity and multitasking, and its SSD is more than enough storage for most people, granted they’re not building a huge gaming library. Importantly, with RAM and storage prices as they are right now, it helps control the initial upfront costs.

Good portability

This machine weighs in at 4.6lbs, which makes it a decent option for taking on the go, that won’t completely weigh you down.

How good is this deal?

In terms of pricing, this is on the lower end of what you’d typically pay for an RTX 5060 laptop, but you’re still getting a bright, high refresh rate screen with FHD+ resolution and 100% sRGB color. The same can’t be said for all RTX 5060 laptops at this price, so I’d call that a win. It also has a few extra bells and whistles, like an RGB 4-zone keyboard, a decent webcam, and a relatively large 76Wh battery, plus a punchy cooling architecture, too. Overall, for the money, I think this laptop makes a lot of sense.
