Prime Day is incoming, but as expected, there are loads of Prime Day-worthy deals rolling in well ahead of the event itself. I’ve spotted a fair few cracking discounts on HP Omen products recently, and it looks like it’s a great time to score one of their gaming laptops for a competitive price. This HP Omen RTX 5060 laptop is going for 30% off its list price, and is coming in at $1,599.00.
HP Omen RTX 5060 Gaming Laptop
Now that may seem somewhat steep for a laptop with an ‘entry-level’ RTX 5060 graphics card, but this machine is a level-up from your typical, closer to $1000 model. First off, it packs a powerful Ryzen 9 8940HX processor, which is an absolute beast of a CPU, with 16 cores, 32 threads, a boost clock speed of 5.3GHz, and a large 64MB L3 cache. That’s a combination that’s designed as much for high fps gaming, especially at FHD, as it is for handling demanding creative workflows and multitasking. This laptop’s workstation and gaming capabilities are future supported by its ample 32GB of high-speed DDR5 RAM, too, which also sets it up nicely for more demanding AAA releases on the horizon.
The screen is an IPS display, which may not be your showstopper OLED, but is still excellent for the price and not overly specced either. It’s FHD+ and 144Hz, which is very. much in line with what the RTX 5060 is capable of, gaming-performance speaking. Is it the type of display for super intricate, accurate design work and video editing? No, not really, but with its 300 nits of brightness, anti-glare coating, and competitive-level refresh rate, it’s ideal for gaming on the go in practically any environment.

Other standout features of this HP Omen gaming laptop
Omen Tempest Cooling
This laptop features a robust cooling architecture, with extra heat pipes, liquid metal cooling, dual fans, and more to keep it running at its best even under heavy and sustained loads.
4-zone RGB keyboard and full-size
Not only does this look great and add a tasteful touch of gaming aesthetics, but it’s a winner for those who prefer this type of layout, without opting for a much larger laptop.
1TB SSD
Not massive, but still good enough to store a handful of games, granted they’re not all massive AAA titles. It’s also a good way to keep initial spend on features that affect overall performance, rather than extra storage space.
