Table of Contents
The HP Omen 16 Slim is a feature-rich gaming laptop with amazing specifications that make it very tempting. For heavy-duty processing, it has the Core Ultra 9 285H, and to handle GPU-intensive processes, the RTX 5060 is up for the job. The 16″ display with a QHD+ resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, and anti-glare feature adds more value and appeal to this offer. On top of that, it has 100% sRGB coverage.
Besides that, a design element that we liked about this gaming laptop was that the majority of the ports are on the back, meaning less clutter on the side during work and play. You also get the Unleashed mode to deal with challenging scenarios, as it lets loose the CPU and GPU to do what they’re best at while the Omen Tempest cooling ensures a cool and stable operation across the board.
So, there is a lot that this gaming laptop brings to the table, and there is no denying that. For $1,749, its lowest price in a month, we think it is worth strong consideration for content creation, 4K, gaming, and more.

Why the HP Omen 16 Slim caught our attention
Brings decent processing power to the table
The combination of the Core Ultra 9 285H and the RTX 5060 is pretty decent, and it delivers plenty of punching power to smooth things over complex pipelines, whether you’re dealing with multitasking, 4K video editing, CAD, Blender, etc. This processor’s 16 cores and threads enable it to efficiently divide the workload and keep the flow going while the RTX 5060 handles gaming and GPU-intensive tasks such as rendering, AI, animation, and more.
The display is amazing
This gaming laptop’s 16″ display has an anti-glare feature and sports a QHD+ (2560 x 1600) resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, 500-nits peak brightness, and 100% sRGB coverage. This is probably the most exciting aspect of this gaming laptop. The RTX 5060 can churn out high frames at 1600p, and you can easily increase the output with DLSS 4.5 and MFG to experience the maximum refresh rate possible.
Other than that, working in bright rooms and outdoors isn’t a hassle thanks to its peak brightness and anti-glare functionality. However, the full sRGB coverage is the cherry on top, as you can tackle color grading and editing workflows with ease and ensure a consistent output for all devices and platforms.
Unleashed mode and Omen Tempest pair well for streamlined operations
Mobile components are limited by the power draw, but the Unleashed mode of this gaming laptop can deliver a total of 110W of power, split between 30W for the processor and 80W for the graphics card. This allows it to handle intensive workloads and maintain high levels of efficiency.
That being said, to take care of any heat-related issues, the Cryo Compound technology comes into play. This drives liquid-metal like cooling while the increased fan blade allow the fans to run quieter while delivering better output.
