If you’re looking for a 4K monitor for a great price, for everyday usage, productivity, watching content, and more, then this discounted Samsung ViewFinity S70H is worth checking out. It’s currently at its best price on Amazon, with a cool $100 off, coming in at just $199.99. For a 4K, 27-inch IPS monitor from Samsung, that’s genuinely pretty good value.

Monitors like these are fairly straightforward to understand, so here’s everything you need to know. As mentioned, it’s 4K and 27 inches, which gives you exceptional picture clarity as you’re getting very high pixel density. At this size, it’s going to be much more practical for smaller spaces, but still large enough to give you enough screen real estate for multiple windows. It’s an IPS display, which basically means you’re getting wide viewing angles. That’s important if you’re using this in a multi-monitor setup or you just want to be able to see what’s on it clearly from different areas of the room.

In terms of picture quality, it’s relatively basic as you’d expect for the price, but still decent. It supports HDR10, which means it applies a fixed picture setting to HDR content to enhance its contrast, color, and brightness. It has 99% sRGB color, a 3000:1 contrast ratio, and 300 nits brightness, which are all decent, too, especially or everyday usage.

Its refresh rate is 60Hz, which again is pretty standard, but not bad at all. It means that scrolling and navigating websites, for example, will look smooth and fluid, as will watching fast-paced scenes in shows and movies. Gaming should also look decent, but this isn’t really a gaming monitor, so I wouldn’t expect to be as blown away as you would be with Samsung’s Odyssey lineup.

For productivity, there are some, dare I say, ‘nifty’ features. Eye Saver Mode is pretty common but super useful for reducing blue light, but it’s the Samsung Display Manager that’s quite useful. This software can be accessed and used to set up PIP and PBP modes for improved workflows, and much more.

Who’s this monitor for?

This is a good, basic, 4K monitor with some useful productivity features and decent picture quality. At under $200, it’s one of the more affordable 4K monitors you can buy, so it does scale back a few areas that may or may. not be important to you. I’d say that if you want something better for gaming, as mentioned, check out the Odyssey lineup, potentially a G3 if you want to keep costs down.
