Samsung’s brilliant S85H Series OLED 55″ TV has crashed to its best price yet on Amazon
Table of Contents
If you’re looking for an excellent OLED TV but don’t fancy paying flagship prices and aren’t too fussed about ‘enthusiast-level’ features, then you’ll want to check this discounted Samsung model out. This 55-inch OLED is from the S85H Series, which is more on the entry-level OLED side, but it’s by no means an entry-level TV! This model packs everything you’d want in an OLED. Stunning contrast, excellent motion handling, brilliant gaming features for high-end consoles and PCs, and a powerful processor to optimize picture quality in real time for the best possible viewing experience. Personally, I think these OLEDs make a lot of sense for most people, and with this model being at its lowest price ever on Amazon, coming in at $1,097.99 with a 15% discount, I’d say it’s well worth considering.
What we like about this Samsung 55-inch Class S85H series OLED TV
Outstanding OLED-standard picture quality
Being an OLED TV, you’ve essentially got self-illuminating pixels, which can ‘switch off’ in some sense to show blacks. That means super deep, inky blacks and exceptional contrast, which helps make everything look more cinematic, lifelike, and atmospheric.
Powerful NQ4 AI Gen2 processor
The better the processor, the better your TV can enhance picture quality in real time, as a rule of thumb. This NQ4 AI Gen2 can effectively make lower-resolution content appear closer to 4K, improve color, make fast-moving scenes look smoother, and more.

Everything you need for gaming
It has a 120Hz refresh rate, which unlocks 120fps at 4K gaming capabilities, and also features FreeSync Premium, which helps to reduce screen tearing and stutter for a smoother overall experience. Pair this TV with a PS5 or 4K-ready gaming PC and you’re laughing.
Pantone Validated color is a win for life-like visuals
Being Pantone Validated is like a seal of approval for accurate hues and colors, which means that skin tones look more realistic instead of overly saturated, for example. It’s also a big win for nature documentaries, as colors will be much more true-to-life for animals and different environments, ultimately making everything more immersive.
Ideal size for most spaces
I’d say for the average-sized room, a 55-inch TV is ideal, as it’s large enough to feel immersive when you’re sat closer to the screen, and not too big that it completely dominates your room. What’s more, you can put your spend into picture quality, instead of pure size, which can make all the difference.
Is this deal right for you?
If you want a genuinely impressive TV across the board for a good price, then this is a very strong option to go for right now. In terms of spend, you’re really putting it towards its OLED panel, gaming features, and advanced processor, rather than scale, so that’s worth factoring in before you buy. If you want something a bit larger, I’d say your best bet would be to go for mini-LED for Samsung; that’s mid-to-upper tier. You’ll still get great contrast, very high peak brightness, and outstanding color and performance, but not as deep blacks, making it not quite as good for low-light viewing.
