Samsung’s excellent T9 Portable SSD 2TB gets a $140 discount in a Prime Big Deal Days offer
Table of Contents
Samsung’s excellent T9 Portable SSD is one of many devices affected by the 2026 price hikes. That’s made it harder to recommend lately, but Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days event has shed some of that weight. The compact and speedy drive is now $140 below its $490 list price, back to a less extreme $350. That price is still an investment, but if you need this reliable 2TB SSD drive to go with you, it’s the best price we’ve seen since June.

Why we’d pick the Samsung T9 Portable SSD 2TB
Speedy 2TB storage
This drive offers a compelling balance of storage and speed. The 2TB capacity holds plenty of data and is a useful size if you need to, say, back up a 1TB SSD and still have storage available. It’s quick, too, with Samsung stating it can reach speeds up to 2,000 MB/s. That is no slouch, and certainly much faster than older, less capable external hard disk drives.
Device agnostic
The T9 Portable’s speed and capacity make it useful for plenty of uses. So, you can use it to back up image or video files directly from a camera, as a game store for your favorite console, or as a dependable drive to keep your latest study projects or work-related files stored on. It’s a portable drive for multiple uses, with the reliability to keep on going.

Portable by name and nature, the T9 can easily be carried in a jacket pocket, laptop bag, or anywhere else that suits. It measures a very compact 3.46 inches (L) x 2.36 inches (W) x 0.55 inches (Th), and weighs 122g (0.27lbs). So it’s certainly portable. And it’s ready to take on whatever task you need, wherever you go.
What to consider before you buy
It’s good to see this popular portable SSD drive get a much better price. However, even at the deal price, the new cost is an investment. There’s no doubting the quality, speed, or compactness of the T9 Portable SSD 2TB, though. So it’s up to you to decide whether the time is right to pick it up. Hopefully the price sticks around for a little while, too.
