Table of Contents
Amazon kicked off its Prime Big Deal Days yesterday, but there’s not long left before the event comes to a close. October’s Prime Day event takes place on October 6-7, unlocking exclusive access to a wide range of deals for Amazon Prime members. While SSD prices remain inflated due to industry-wide shortages, a deal on the 2TB Sandisk Optimus GX 7100M stands out.
Typically priced at $449.99, the spacious 2TB M.2 2230 drive is now available for $379.99 for Prime members. With up to 7,250MB/s Read Speeds and 6,900MB/s Write Speeds, the more compact M.2 drive is ideal for anyone looking to upgrade the storage on their compatible tablet, laptop, or handheld devices such as Valve’s popular Steam Deck.

What we like about this Sandisk 2TB SSD deal
Plenty of storage space, and fast transfer speeds
Sitting on the PCIe 4.0 standard, this NVMe drive offers Sequential Read/Write speeds up to 7,250/6,900 MB/s, which is ideal for gaming – massively reducing load times. In the case of the Steam Deck, the Sandisk replacement should be multiple times faster than the stock SSD, based on publicly posted results. On top of the speeds, 2TB is plenty enough for gaming.

Ideal for your Steam Deck, other handhelds
Most modern PC gaming handhelds feature the M.2 2230 standard, so if you’re looking to up your storage space, this Sandisk drive is ideal. Valve currently sells its Steam Deck OLED in 512GB and 1TB variants, so this 2TB SSD is a notable upgrade. The 2230 form factor is also used in the ROG Ally, Legion Go, and MSI Claw series.
Trustworthy brand and matching software
Sandisk is a well-known and well-established storage brand. Computer storage is one of the last things you want to fail, so it’s always worth choosing a reputable brand. The Optimus GX 7100M also ships with Sandisk Dashboard, allowing users to enable features such as Game Mode and the ability to migrate files to the new drive more seamlessly.
