Table of Contents
If you’re looking for a gaming PC that is light on the pocket, we recommend you check out the CLX Set gaming PC. This budget-friendly offering is powered by the Ryzen 5 9600X, giving it a cheap entry into the AM5 platform, and the RTX 4060. This might seem like an odd pairing, but it is good for 1080p and 1440p gaming. When it comes to raw performance, the 9600X can handle its own thanks to the Zen 5 architecture and the option of increasing its TDP.
Besides this, this system has 32GB of DDR5 RAM, which is pretty decent and will ensure streamlined gaming and give it a solid overhead for multitasking. The 120mm AIO is also a very smart addition, as the 9600X doesn’t really need much more than that to keep it cool, and the cost of this entire build with the 7% discount comes down to $1,789.99.

The RTX 4060 equips it for 1080p and 1440p gaming
Before the RTX 5060, there was the RTX 4060, which was one of the go-to options for budget gamers. It should also have DLSS 4.5, which will allow it to deliver much better gaming performance. However, natively, it showcased great numbers at 1080p and 1440p in all sorts of games when we reviewed the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4060 OC. However, with the advancement of Blackwell, it might not deliver the same output in professional workflows, as it works with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM. So, keep that in mind, but for gaming, it is still a valid GPU to go for.
120mm is perfect for the 9600X
The 9600X has a base TDP of 65W, but you have the option to ramp it up to 105W for enhanced performance. So, this means it can tackle demanding tasks, but this also increases its thermal output. To take care of that, CLX installed a 120mm AIO on top of it, which will keep it cool and stable. Honestly, even an air cooler would’ve been enough to get the job done. This will ensure that the performance doesn’t deteriorate during sustained workloads.
32GB DDR5 RAM is more than enough
For a modern gaming PC, 32GB DDR5 RAM is more than enough. This gives it a considerable buffer and memory ceiling, enabling it to house different apps and processes in parallel without impacting performance. Since more data can be loaded into RAM, the CPU doesn’t have to wait, and this drives outstanding efficiency and eliminates bottlenecks.
