I’ve been spotting a fair few Thermaltake gaming PC deals recently, and I’d say that this discounted RTX 5070 model stands out from the crowd. It’s got $400 off its list price and is coming in at just $1,499.99. It also comes with the current Intel game bundle, which has a couple of free games (both of which look pretty awesome, to be honest).

Now for just under $1,500, you’re getting a pretty punchy gaming PC here. As mentioned, it features an RTX 5070, but it also has an excellent, cost-effective Intel Core i5-14400F and 32GB of DDR4 RAM. Its SSD is 1TB, as expected; there’s a pretty punchy 850W PSU, and the system is air-cooled with a quad-fan setup.

This is the type of build that’s designed primarily with 1440p gaming in mind and packs some decent workstation capabilities that position it relatively well for multitasking and some creative workflows. Read on for a quick breakdown of this PC’s key components and what they bring to the table.

What we like about this Thermaltake LCGS NE gaming PC

Intel Core i5-14400F is a solid mid-range CPU for the RTX 5070

It features a 4.7GHz boost clock, 20MB L3 cache, 10 cores, and 16 threads, which make it fairly punchy for gaming at high refresh rates with low latency, especially in 1440p, and for general multitasking. It wouldn’t be my pick for heavy creative workflows, but for general video and photo editing, it’s more than enough.

RTX 5070 is the real star of this configuration

This graphics card packs 12GB of GDDR7 VRAM, 6,144 CUDA cores, and 250W TGP, and is essentially an excellent pick for 1440p gaming that can punch above its weight thanks to its improved AI capabilities. Considering most RTX 5070 builds hover between $1,500 and $2,000, they’re a good midway point between RTX 5060 and RTX 5070 Ti options, but pack significantly more raw power than the former.

32GB of DDR4 is solid for modern gaming

It may not be as fast as DDR5, but the capacity here is certainly enough to handle demanding AAA titles and also primes this PC for future releases. The big win here is that it helps keep the overall price more affordable, without sacrificing too much performance.

1TB SSD is adequate, and helps keep costs down

It may fill up quickly if you’re slamming it with massive AAA games, but with some careful storage management, you’ll likely be able to avoid an upgrade for a while.

How good is this deal?

This is about as cheap as it gets for an RTX 5070 build, but obviously there are some caveats. I’d say for the price, it’s great, especially as it’s from the highly regarded folks at Thermaltake. From my experience, I’d say that the sweet spot, from a price-to-performance perspective, is around $1,800 with RTX 5070 builds. At this price, you’re likely to get an AM5 processor or potentially a lower-end Core Ultra if you’re lucky, alongside DDR5 RAM.
