What we like about this ASUS ROG Strix 34″ OLED gaming monitor
Outstanding HDR performance
This monitor is VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400 certified, which is essentially an official badge of honor for HDR performance only awarded to OLED displays with top-tier contrast, color, and peak brightness.
Its color is brilliant for gaming and video editing
With True 10-bit and 99.3% DCI-P3 color, alongside Delta E<2 accuracy, this monitor makes games look extremely lifelike, and allows for highly accurate video editing, too.
High, but not overkill, refresh rate
With 175Hz, you’re getting something high enough for competitive framerates, but also not completely over-the-top for your typical 1440p gaming PC. In other words, you’re not overpaying for a higher refresh rate that your rig may not be able to utilize fully.
OLED Care Pro helps reduce burn-in risk
This monitor comes with a comprehensive suite of burn-in protection, from unique features like its Neo Proximity sensor to all your familiar static image detectors and heatsinks.
ELMB for super smooth gaming performance
ASUS’ Extreme Low Motion Blur does exactly what it says on the tin, as it helps to dramatically reduce motion blur and ghosting. That’s vital for fast-paced gaming where you need to keep track of what’s happening on-screen.
Sweet-spot resolution and size
This monitor is 3440×1440 and 34 inches, which is great as it gives you a wider field of view, but without going too wide, and too expensive. It’s also less demanding to game at this resolution than 4K, making it a more accessible option than your wider ultrawides.
Who should buy this ASUS ROG Strix 34-inch OLED gaming monitor?
If you’ve got a decent graphics card and mostly play single-player games at high settings, then this monitor is going to be great for you. As mentioned, it’s also a winner for productivity and creative work, as its larger screen real estate gives you much more room for multiple windows and various application UIs than your typical 27-inch monitor.
